Hello, First off I have 6 grown children of my own & 4 grandsons, I was a preschool through 2nd grade teacher for almost 16.years, I am a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist, I also worked at a school as a School Medical Assistant for 8.5 yrs, i have First Aid, CPR, AED. I enjoy watching children learn and explore, they take me into a world that only they see and its full of imagination and adventures. I am a mental health therapist (LCSW) looking for part time/date night/weekends jobs to supplement my income and connect me back to the joyous work of supporting youth. I am adventurous, empathetic, responsible, and proactive. I am 30 years old and have been working with kids and pets since I was probably about 14. I have worked as an after-school nanny, completing school pickups and activities, as well as a babysitter fo a variety of ages. I worked as a mother’s-helper for a mother who had twins, supporting her with household cleaning and meals, as well as taking care of her 3 year old daughter. Previously, I worked as a behavior therapist for kids with autism and as a paraprofessional in an elementary school for kids with behavioral and developmental disabilities. Last, my most fun position was as an adventure camp counselor leading kids on various outdoor activities and camping trips. I have a lot of experience! In my free time (and if I can overlap it with work) I love to spend my time outdoors snowboarding, hiking, camping, biking, hanging in the park or walking my dog. I'm very active and love to stay busy and aim to encourage play, adventure and calm in the kiddos I work with. I also have lots of experience caring for dogs (and cats a little). Currently, I have a 7.5 year old german shephard/husky mutt and have dog-sat for many people. Last, I have a reliable car that I don't mind driving kids in to and from activities. I was recently thinking of a way to assist parents (single parents), as a mom whose had both married and single years. Then, I came across UrbanSitters. I have four children, who are now all adults. For sure, there were those who assisted me during the single years with my children, when they were little, and I would like to do the same for other parents in return. Sometimes parents need a little assistance with running errands, pick-ups, of just have a sitter sit some hours so parents can take a breather and free up more time for family time. I have an associates degree in medical administration and finishing up a bachelor degree in criminal justice. I have worked in the business, medical and judicial settings, pretty much since graduating high school. Children are precious gifts and are naturally funny at times, looking to explore their new world safely. I loved taking care of my own children, as well as relatives and friends children. I love reading, music, movies, and the outdoors. My availability is pretty flexible but it changes.
