As a mother of a 21-year-old son now in college, I bring over two decades of hands-on experience in parenting, caregiving, and supporting children’s growth and development. Throughout my son’s childhood, I was actively involved in his school community as a “team mom,” field trip chaperone, classroom volunteer, and consistent presence at school and extracurricular events. Before and after my son’s birth, I worked with school-age children and daycare programs on military bases in Florida and New Mexico. I also have extensive experience providing babysitting support for families and friends, stepping in for both regular care and occasional coverage when needed. As a parent, I understand the importance of structure, consistency, and attention to individual household routines. I’m mindful of dietary needs, preferences, and any family-specific guidelines, and I always aim to create a balance between fun and structure while respecting each family’s expectations. I recognize that every household operates differently and adjust my approach accordingly. Parenthood has also taught me flexibility and calm problem-solving. Hi my name is Makayla!! I am a senior at the University of South Florida. I am majoring in health sciences with a minor in psychology. I am also on the USF All Girl Cheer team. I have lots of experience with children of all ages! I have nannied for various families with multiple children as well as previously being a youth cheer coach. I have my own car for transportation and am comfortable with pets and other tasks like cooking or laundry. I love playing and doing different activities with children!! I have a BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) from USF. I am a licensed Realtor . I like to stay busy and have volunteered for over 30 years with a local hospital. Since Covid, I am not longer doing that. My greatest joys in life are my two sons and six grandchildren. I am active and enjoy taking my grands to the park and the pool. I also enjoy helping home schooling them. I have volunteered at my church for years, often taking people to doctor appointments and chemo. I have my own car and am able to run errands if needed. I love cats and dogs. I enjoy walking dogs. The last dog I took care of, Sunny, needed long walks. We did 3 miles a day plus. This was in Idaho. Not sure that is practical in Tampa in the summer.
