Due to my theatre background I regularly include make believe play in my interactions with children, using different voices and mannerisms while asking the children questions and helping to build their imaginative skills. I have raised and trained two dogs, cared for seniors experiencing dementia and have 20 years experience caring for children of all ages. My strategy with kids (and seniors) is to slow down, answer all questions and give them options. As big sister to three boys, my entire childhood and young adulthood involved caring for kids.
