I am 28 years old, and a registered nurse. I have been babysitting for about 10 years and my experience includes working several different families here on Urbansitter, in my neighborhood, as well as some family children. I went to the University of Iowa and studied health and human physiology and graduated nursing school in 2023. I worked as a day camp recreation leader for day for 7 years with the chicago park district, which allowed me to increase my experience working with children. I enjoy working with children and keeping them entertained through different activities, whether its arts and crafts or playing outside. I am also cpr certified and fully vaccinated. I prefer zelle, cash or Venmo but can be flexible. I look forward to working with your family!
Hi there, my name is Sam! I’ve been working with kids since I could remember and I’ve always loved it. I used to work at Disney World so if your kids love Disney we’ll definitely get along. With my experience in childcare and other relational jobs I’ve had I’ve learned to become very patient, kind, attentive, flexible, trustworthy, and creative. I can help with cooking, laundry, and other light household duties. In my free time I enjoy reading (especially about leadership, self-development, and communication), staying physically active, and finding new recipes to try. Thank you again for your consideration and I hope to hear from you soon!
NEW clients: Please message me before offering a job. I often get requests that expire before I can take action, job offers that have no information, or requests for schedules I cannot accommodate. I feel much more comfortable and safe accepting an offer with a family that has read my profile clearly and that provides complete information. My calendar is very well-kept and frequently updated. I a currently on leave from my full time daycare job and have a bit more flexibility with my schedule. -Pre-K teacher with 8 years of daycare/preschool experience -passionate about arts and antiracism -queer-friendly -pet-friendly -exp. caring for infants-middle schoolers
“Alex was friendly and caring from the start. Our 17 month old had a great time and was appeared to be looking for Alex after she went home. Our toddler was having a hard time napping and Alex used her skills from working in childcare to keep her on schedule - thank you Alex!”
Hello! My name is Jeanette. I moved to Chicago in 2021 to pursue my MA in Sound Arts and Industries at Northwestern University. I currently work as a freelance audio engineer and teaching artist in the local film and arts community, and I’m looking for part-time or occasional childcare opportunities between projects. Before moving to Chicago, I worked as an early childhood educator in New Mexico public schools and summer programs. I earned my BA from the University of New Mexico with an interdisciplinary focus in Early Childhood & Multicultural Education, Music Studies/Performance, and Communication. I have years of experience working with children from early childhood through teens as a teacher, nanny, and sitter. I love caregiving because it’s rewarding to support kids as they explore, learn, and grow while creating a safe, creative, and encouraging environment. I enjoy engaging kids through reading stories, singing songs and nursery rhymes, music, crafts, imaginative play, outdoor exploration, and sensory activities. I like following children’s interests and encouraging curiosity while also supporting routines and helping kids tidy up after activities. When screen time is allowed, I prefer guided movement breaks or short educational programs (like Danny Go, Ms. Rachel, or Kids TV 123), but I usually try to keep kids engaged with hands-on activities instead. I’m bilingual (fluent in Spanish), play a variety of string instruments, and am currently working toward my Deep Listening certification. I previously worked with a community organization in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood co-teaching expressive arts classes for children and families, and volunteered with ALAS as a violin instructor for a mariachi youth group. While living in Santa Fe, I also led an outdoor summer arts adventure program organizing nature-based art projects, movement games, and creative activities both outdoors and indoors. More recently, I’ve spent lots of time helping care for my two nieces (now ages 2 and 5), which keeps my toddler and early childhood play skills active. I’m trained in first aid and infant/toddler CPR and am happy to help with light household tasks during naps. I’m also happy to provide references or my resume upon request. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio, I hope to connect with your family soon!
“Jeanette did a wonderful job and had a delightful connection with our children.”
Hi, my name is Margarita, and I’m 29 years old. I’ve been babysitting for 13 years. Growing up in a large family as the third of seven children, I naturally developed a passion for helping care for my younger siblings. Over the years, I’ve gained experience babysitting both for my own family and for others. I’ve also worked in a kids' room at a gym, (happened for about 4 years) supervising children of all ages—sometimes up to 10 at once! I truly enjoy working with kids and love watching them grow and knowing I’ve contributed positively to their development. In addition to my childcare experience, I’m a proud mom to two little ones: a 5-year-old son named Ace and a 4-year-old daughter named Alaia. Also currently fostering a 11 month old baby girl who we are hoping to adopt soon! I also have 10 years of experience in housekeeping. For the past 4 years, I’ve been working full-time in the human resources department of a nonprofit organization, handling payroll.
