Hi! I’m Melissa, a 25-year-old living in Somerville, MA. I grew up in Rhode Island, went to college in upstate New York, and moved to Somerville for grad school before settling into my 9 – 5 in downtown Boston doing Data Analytics. I’ve been babysitting for nearly 10 years, caring for kids of all ages, from infants to teens, and have also spent the past 7 years tutoring math and science. I genuinely love working with children, whether that means helping with homework, getting active outdoors, or snuggling up for a movie. My friends describe me as fun, lively, patient, reliable, and outgoing. I played soccer in college and enjoy running, biking, and staying active, but I’m just as happy to get creative with crafts or work through a tough math problem. I once organized a full-day music video production of Katy Perry’s “Firework” with the kids that turned into a true masterpiece and a favorite memory. I’m adaptable and caring, always striving to bring positive energy and support to the families I work with. I look forward to helping your family however I can!
I can help with home responsibilities: laundry, cooking, admin, etc. I'm a professional chef by trade. Can provide meal prep, allergen safe recipes, event consultation. Also, great with cats. Max 2
Looking for someone to fill in those last minute days or nights? Having a hard time finding a long term nanny but need someone else during the search? I’m available! I am a Freelance Film Production Coordinator looking for some part time work. I am the oldest of 7 children and have always been around kids. I worked at a daycare throughout high school and college, and then was a nanny for several years. Currently, I help to take care of my nieces and nephews (aged 3months - 5years) as needed. I am very comfortable and confident with all ages. First Aid and CPR Certified. References available.
“Kayla was great with both kids. My 4 year old loved talking with her and she had my 2 year old smiling and giggling. We will definitely have her back!”
Hi caregivers! My name is Dylan, and I’m currently looking for one-time jobs since I’m currently in graduate school! I am currently pursuing my Masters in Speech Language Pathology at Emerson College. I previously attended the University of Connecticut where I studied Communication Sciences and American Sign Language. My experience working with children started in 2022. In the summer of 2022, my first job was at a summer camp for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children. It was an overnight camp where I also taught archery. Following that experience, I decided to pursue more experiences in childcare and was hired at an early care and education center that I worked at part time while at UConn. During winter and summer breaks I often babysat and dogsat for many families. I also have experience working at a children’s fitness club within the gym I used to go to in my hometown. My most recent experiences have been working with children 3-17 years old as a Teacher of the Deaf during the 2[removed] school year. So far, as a graduate student clinician I’ve worked with infants, toddlers and school-age children. I do not have much experience with seniors, however, my first job was working as a waiter at a retirement home!
Kids are fantastic to work with. They have fantastic imaginations and a beautiful enthusiasm for so many parts of life. I love having the chance to hear about their favorite cartoon, sing along to their favorite Disney songs, and see the amazing ideas they come up with. I'm happy to play with kids, but I also take it seriously when there are rules they need to follow. Eating healthy snacks. Brushing their teeth. Going to bed. Those rules may not be things kids always want to do, but don't worry. I'll follow your schedule to a T. After all, kids also need the structure (and clean teeth) that come with less-fun habits. I am also experienced and capable at providing support for seniors, pets, or with numerous household tasks. I follow schedules well, pay attention to my charge's needs, and keep an eye on all the important details in my work. For seniors that means listening and treating them with respect. For pets it's paying attention for any mischief while caring for them. And for household chores, I just take pride in making sure I leave my workplace properly cleaned and organized. Whatever it is you need, I'm glad to help!

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
