I love working with children and have been working with them (infants, toddlers and teenagers) since I was 14 years old, in both professional and personal settings. Childcare history: Over the last 15-20 years, I have worked with kids through running a daycare center, working as a camp counselor, working in afterschool programs, nannying and babysitting for families, and now each day in my professional work! I am kind, creative, playful and silly, while also understanding the need for firmness and boundaries when the moment calls to keep things running smoothly and safely for all! I am the caregiver who is more likely to take your child(ren) to the park or to a local museum than plop them in front of the TV. Pet care: Aside from children, pets are my greatest love. 4 years ago I adopted a dog and understand how important it is to find someone to care for your animal like they are your own while you are away from them. Hi! I’m Funmbi 😊 I’m a graduate student at Boston University School of Medicine, and I’ve always naturally been someone who takes care of others. I’m the oldest of five siblings, so a lot of my experience started at home-helping out, staying organized, and being someone my siblings could rely on. I’ve also worked with kids of all ages through my church’s children’s and youth ministry, so I’m comfortable stepping in whether it’s playtime, helping with homework, or keeping a routine going. I also volunteer in my community and plan to attend medical school, so being dependable and attentive really matters to me. I’d describe myself as calm, patient, and easy to be around. I try to meet kids where they are, whether they’re energetic, shy, or just need someone to listen. I also worked as a Patient Care Assistant, which helped me become even more attentive, responsible, and aware when it comes to safety and making sure people feel comfortable and supported. I also love animals (especially dogs) so I’m more than happy to be around pets too. I’m happy to help with homework, meals, bedtime routines, or just keeping kids engaged with fun activities (and yes, I’m definitely the type to build forts or play games with them 😊). Overall, I just aim to create a space where kids feel comfortable and cared for, and where parents feel at ease knowing everything is in good hands.

As an older sibling of three, I have been taking care of little ones since I can remember. I babysat neighbors and family friends since I was 14, and have worked with children of all ages in school-based settings throughout high school and college. I grew up with dogs and cats and am familiar and comfortable taking care of furry friends as well.
