Hello, I am Denise Edwards and I was a professional Nanny in the DMV area for more than 15 years. I am currently seeking part time employment as a Nanny/babysitter, elderly care companion. I am a punctual, funloving, caring, reliable, individual with extensive experience caring for children of all ages. I believe my background and dedication make me an excellent fit for any position and I hopefully there will be someone who will give me serious consideration. I love children, I love taking care of people and I look forward to hearing from you. Additionally I am free for overnights or full weekends if a parent need it. I am also a trained chef so one can be assured of proper meals for the children in my care, even if it is simple as Mac n cheese. I will even prepare a meal for you the parents. I love what I do and I do what I love is my mantra. Sincerely, Denise PS: I am looking forward to some positive responses. I won't disappoint.
I am an early childhood education trained teacher. I am currently a kindergarten teacher but have taught pre k through second grade. I am willing to pick up and drop kids off as needed! I can bring lots of fun games, crafts, and movies for kids to do while in my care.
Hi! I'm Lisa. I'm a dedicated, energetic, and personable mom of four who has been raising my family for the past 11 years - my children are 4, 6, 9 and 11. As the third oldest of eight, I have a lifetime of experience with babysitting, bonding with, and helping children. I don't shy away from household work, either! I am looking to get back into the workforce in a capacity that both suits my own schedule and allows me to highlight my strengths. In addition to my practical experience of being a mom and running a household, I have past experience in the professional workforce. Those jobs have included office manager, administrative assistant, file clerk, and similar positions. In each of my past jobs, there has been some element of at least some of these skills: organizing; maintaining and at times devising filing systems - both digital and traditional; maintaining calendars/schedules; training co-workers; writing manuals. Writing, proofreading, and editing are great strengths of mine and ones I enjoy utilizing. I have previously cared for others' children, as well as been a dogsitter and cat sitter. Understanding the demands of parenthood (and adulthood in general), I also understand the demands of family life. Need light housework, laundry, reorganizing/cleaning spaces, or other such tasks in your home or office? Lessening the weight of these loads will allow you and your family to function better. (I have a great interest in highlighting and growing my organizing talents!) Other qualifications that might be of help to you: *packing/unpacking before and after moves *switching out seasonal clothes *making donation lists/inputting into databases *organizing online files, folders, and photos *maintaining (and setting up if needed) filing systems for bills and other paperwork *helping elementary school-aged children with homework (possibly older kids too) *reading to children (and adults!) *planning and setting up for parties (and cleaning up afterward too!) I am personable, a fast learner, enthusiastic, sincere, and have a lot of experience interacting with people in various settings. Meeting families through this platform is an exciting prospect for me. I am open to other positions that I have not listed here and look forward to meeting you soon!
Hello Families, My name is Jay, and I am currently an Educator with over 20 years of experience. I enjoy being a sitter and have watched children of all ages, from infants to teens. I am first aid certified and have a background check with a clean CPR report. When sitting, I love playing tabletop/board games, doing arts and crafts, and having a good dance party! I am happy to work with families with pets, can do light meals, and drive children to various events. I am available evenings, weekends, and overnight in special cases. I look forward to working with your family!
Hi there! I’m Micah. I recently moved to the area after getting married, and while I’m a writer by trade, caring for kids has always been something I truly love. Over the past four years, I’ve gained experience as both a babysitter and nanny, working with children of all ages—from energetic school-aged kids to some of the world’s sweetest infants and toddlers. I’m happy to help with cooking (and I’m a pretty great baker!), homework support, and light household tasks to keep things running smoothly. With a background in theatre and the arts, I bring lots of creative energy and love engaging kids in imaginative, age-appropriate play. I’m also pet-friendly (I grew up with two dogs), have my own car, and hold a Maryland driver’s license. My childcare experience includes overnight stays with infants, serving in my church’s pastoral childcare ministry, and regularly caring for groups of up to four children at once. Families often describe me as encouraging and joyful—I hope that during the time I spend with your little ones, I can plant a small seed of fun, comfort, and creativity that brightens their day.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
