Hi there! My name is Mary. I've been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I started off by watching my family’s and friends kids and as got older , I was a nanny for other families in my area . I love children :) and I have experience with all ages . I am currently in school and working full time ,so just looking for occasional one time jobs . I’m happy to be a repeat sitter if my schedule allows it :). Certifications: BLS
“Mary is wonderful. She’s attentive, nurturing, kind. My 20 month old had a lot of fun with her! ”
**I am not accepting credit card bookings at this point, but can accept cash, Venmo, PayPal, or Zelle!** I live in Baltimore and commute to NW D.C. happy to pick up jobs anywhere between the two! What I bring to the table: •Nearly 20 years of experience with childcare and household management for preschool-to-high school aged kids and families. I was with my previous family for 14 years and have been with my current family since 2019. •Intuitive and fast thinking- I am able to quickly troubleshoot situations and navigate decisions without handholding. Fixing problems before they become problems. •Almost spotless driving record (one camera ticket in the last few years), plus a squeaky clean criminal record. I am very comfortable driving, navigating rush hour, parallel parking (and yes! I was born in Maryland so of course I back into parking spaces). This also means I have my own transportation. •Funny, down to earth, and strong in my convictions- would like to work with a family on the same wavelength. •I love to cook and am familiar with many different cuisines. Comfortable in kosher, vegetarian/vegan, and gluten-free/allergy kitchens. •Happy to work with families and kids of all types! LGBTQ+, polyam, gnc, families and kids welcome. The downsides: •I am only available for occasional or as-needed work. I currently work part-time with a rolling schedule so I have decent availability but cannot commit to a set schedule. •I am a night owl and prefer to work afternoons and evenings. Late nights are not a problem. •Funny, down to earth, and strong in my convictions- so I’m unfortunately not willing to work with folks whose values don’t match my own :) Hope to her from you soon!
“Arrived on time. Our toddler immediately enjoyed playing with Annie. Great experience for parents and child.”
Hi!. I work for DC Public Library and have been working in libraries for over 7 years now and I love it! I'm happy to get back to sitting occasionally to spend time engaging in fun activities like park visits, imaginative play, reading, kid-friendly cooking, and music/art! I don't have kids of my own so getting to spend time and care for others is a joy and privilege that I don't take for granted. I enjoy being a caregiver and sharing the present moment with kids. It feels less like work and more like an escape from my daily routine! My schedule varies as I work every other weekend and one full weekend a month (both Saturday and Sunday). I also have Thursday mornings off if anyone needs help then! I've worked with children aged 1 to 12 and infants (3 months+) locally since 2011. Before DC, I went abroad to au pair for a family with two young children (2 and 4 years old when I arrived). My duties have included: Meal prep/ Feeding (bottles, babyfood etc.) Light housekeeping Drop offs/ Pick ups Caring for sick toddlers and infants Medicine Adminstration Activities and Outings Supervision and chaperoning in various settings (home and away) Tutoring and homework help Help caring for pets (dogs and cats) My longest full-time childcare job was working abroad as an au pair. I stayed with the family for over a year and a half, working afternoons, all day Wednesday (off-school day), and the occasional evening, weekend, or vacation sitting.
“Aimee connected with our girls right away. She was on-time, and had great communication throughout. Would definitely recommend!”
I am fully-vaccinated and ready to babysit! Hi! My name is Annie and I am 28 years old. I have been babysitting since I was 20 while in college for multiple families. I was also a camp counselor summers in high school and one summer in college. I am currently a pre-k teacher. I absolutely love kids and will go above and beyond for families. I also frequently babysit for the same families I did in college evenings and weekends!

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
