Hello! My name is Acacia and I am a mom, entrepreneur, and avid animal lover. I have a great deal of experience with children of all ages. This experience comes from raising my own kids and from giving a helping hand to siblings and friends when they have needed it. In my early twenties I also worked for a year as a personal care attendant mostly with seniors, but also with a few children who had disabilities as well. In addition to this, I have also cared for my own grandparents in times of need and my father when he was fighting cancer. I grew up on a hobby farm which fostered a huge love of animals in me. I have a lot of experience with a large array of animals and currently own my own business in petcare that I do during the week. I am comfortable with most aspects of petcare and I am currently certified in pet first aid and CPR. Hello!! I retired early after 38 years of teaching. I received Elementary Education as well special education degrees from Luther College in Decorah, IA. I later received my Early Child Special Education degree from Mankato State University and my Graduate Degree from St Mary's University. I am presently driving two hours to care for my 2 year old granddaughter in Hopkins, Mn. I typically watch her two weeks each month, and rotate with a couple others. My schedule varies. I typically do not watch her on Tuesdays or weekends. She truly has been a blessing in our lives. I have experience working with children on the autism spectrum, as well as those with emotional and behavioral needs, from kindergarten through 6th grade.
