I absolutely love kids! I’m a mom of 4 and a former teacher, principal, and superintendent. Patience and compassion are my strengths, while still maintaining control through calm. I savor time spent with kids of all ages, with babies being the sweetest. I also enjoy spending time with and taking care of toddlers all the way to teenagers. Yes, I said teenagers! I have a way of connecting with them and building appropriate relationships. In addition to caring for kids, I can help with homework. My teaching experience is in middle and high school English Language Arts, Math, Biology, and Science. My tutoring experience is in all the age groups with an obvious focus on the areas I’ve taught. Other than the content, one of my strengths while teaching was in classroom management, because I have the ability to use expectations, logical consequences, and relationships to impact student behaviors. And one of the most effective and compassionate, yet effective ways of managing inappropriate behaviors is through using Restorative Practices. I have many years of experience addressing child behavior this way and helping people, both kids and adults through conflict using this approach.
Since 2017, I have gained extensive childcare experience caring for my five younger siblings from infancy through the pre-teen years. In the summer of 2025, I began gaining formal childcare experience, including part-time and occasional babysitting, four months as an after-school YMCA staff member, and six months as a teaching assistant at an elementary school. A little about me: I am an incoming college student (Fall 2026) with a passion for caring for children, and my dream career is to become a pediatrician. Some of my key characteristics include being energetic, playful, patient, responsible, and attentive.
I have done a variety of caregiving jobs from age 18 to currently 25. I have three years of professional experience on Wag! as an animal caregiver, caring for more than 400 pets. This includes walking, feeding, sitting or boarding, medication management, “aggressive” breeds, senior animals, and puppies. I currently take care of my own grandmother who is 83- experience extends to household care, deep cleaning, decluttering, trash hauling, heavy lifting, animal care in conjunction to senior care, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and administering medication. I have been a Nanny and a camp counselor lead for 4 seasons which includes care from ages 4-17, special needs (ASD), 24-hour care, enrichment activities, transportation, medication management, swimming lessons (lifeguard certified), and tutoring. I also have extensive experience in household care as my mother owns and operates a cleaning company- it’s in my blood! I have worked on projects that include hoarding, major reorganization, building small furniture, deep cleaning, extensive plant care, garden maintenance, and everyday upkeep. I prioritize functionality and sanitation.
I have always been a natural born care giver. Growing up with a brother nine years younger than myself in a single parent household, I took on a lot of responsibilities at a young age. I also babysat for a number of families in our neighborhood. Caring for my brother, making meals and helping out around the house. In my adult life I have worked as a full time nanny for a family with two young boys, an area that I was of course quite familiar to me. I have also been a step mother. I love kids, and although I don't have any of my own (yet!) I have enjoyed being a part of my niece's and nephew's lives and those of my friend's children. I am a very creative person. I love to learn and explore. I went to the University of Minnesota studying fine art. I later became a pastry chef. I have a passion for food and cooking. I love to teach and have fun. I think that learning should be fun! I am easy going. I love to get outside and explore nature. I am always there to lend a listening ear, a hand to hold or a shoulder to cry on. People have told me that I am a very kind, and insightful person. Honesty and values are very important to me and I take that very seriously. If you choose to hire me, I will hold your children accountable with kindness. I do not believe in yelling. In fact I very much dislike it. If I sound like a good fit for you and yours please get in contact. Thanks!

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
