Hi, my name is Elizabeth and I started this fabulous new adventure just after retiring from an award winning career as an educator and assistant principal in May of 2024! Being able to give my complete undivided attention to connect and engage with only one to three children as opposed to 30 or more is a priceless opportunity, and for me a “fantastic gift to both the child and caregiver!” It’s this rewarding fact that convinces me that you and I would make a fantastic fit for your child! I’ve worked with children infants to school age for over 24 years. This all began at 12 years old, and because I became so impulse with parents of children from infant to elementary that I became a contract babysitter to ensure you had me when you needed! I work well with ALL I care for, this includes, the two legged and four legged family members! While working with HEAD START and for all staff from daycares obtaining accreditation for infants to school age I was a certified American Red Cross instructor CPR and First Aid and safety for all caregivers of infants to school age (elementary) While I taught for DODEA department of defense Education Activities and wrote and obtained my first grant creating a theater drama after school program at one school site and a visual arts after school program for another school site! While I received many awards from both the community and commanding general, the real reward for me was seeing children engage and thrive like never before. I believe that we can and should engage with children of all ages every way every day possible. This begins with infancy and the success and growth from this is seen on a daily basis. Hi, I'm Miasol! I'm the second eldest in a family of 4 wild, homeschooled kids who I helped care for in my childhood. Over the past 13 years, I've been hired by 20+ families to care for babies (independent sleep transition, eating solids transition, motor development, speech development, nap routines) as well as elementary age and preteen children (Nighttime routines, morning/after school care, tidying, transportation, cooking meals, and special needs). For a similar period, I've also taught music to children ages 4+. My nannying style values patience, keeping consistent boundaries for mental and physical wellbeing, and encouraging creative play (I energetically partake- Some children have kindly referred to me as Mary Poppins!). My passion is to help kids grow healthily and happily, and I have done so for over 75 in my time teaching and providing childcare. I'm a UNC Chapel Hill graduate who teaches music for Providence Day School in the afternoons, looking for a morning job!

With 20 years of childcare experience and a Bachelor's degree in Child Development, I'm passionate about providing compassionate, attentive care tailored to each child's unique needs. I've worked as a full-time nanny for two children (a girl from 11 months to age 4 and a boy from birth to age 2), and I've also cared for a 3-month-old infant, plus served as a summer nanny for two children including a 10-year-old boy with autism. Beyond nanny care, I have extensive experience in child development centers, Pre-K classrooms, and as a summer camp counselor. During the pandemic, I was a virtual learning facilitator for five children (three kindergartners and two 2nd graders). I have particular expertise working with children with disabilities and English language learners, and I'm skilled at developing lesson plans and providing educational activities and support to enrich children's development. My Pediatric First Aid/CPR & SIDS certifications are current. I can also help with household management tasks and pet care! I have done both for many families and I have over 13 years of dog sitting experience.
