At present, I have no idea exactly what I would like to specialize in, but I have a feeling it will ultimately be in pediatrics. I've spent most of my life working with children, be it as a general babysitter, a nanny, a peer mentor, a tutor, a lifeguard, or a camp counselor at a sleep away camp for several years. I love getting to know kids and helping them foster their interests and creativity, as well as teaching them to think out of the box! I’m originally from Seattle and moved to New York in 2015 to study acting. I joined UrbanSitter during college and have been using it as my day job ever since. I have 18 years of childcare experience, ranging from date nights and private nannying to daycare and summer camps. Over the last four years I have began working in arts education as a teaching artist and youth theater director. I’m the 2nd oldest of 10 so I’ve been around young kids my entire life and am used to watching multiple kids at once. Due to being CPR and First Aid certified since I was 12, I’ve gained years of experience watching kids with varying disabilities and medical conditions, and am very familiar with working with children who are autistic, have epilepsy, or have life threatening food allergies. My go to activities are coloring, board games, going to the park, reading, movies, and arts and crafts. Outside of childcare, I am an actor, writer, and run an indie theater/production company. I’ve spent the pandemic studying trauma informed, consent based rehearsal spaces and mental health first aid. Both of these skills have been easily transferable to my childcare work. I have experience teaching at after school programs using the Montessori Method and have been working more as a teaching artist lately, doing theater and improv with kids. Cancellation policy: cancellation less than 24 hours my policy is full payment. If it’s within 72 hours, it’s half the agreed payment, and more than 72 there isn’t a fee. If you come home more than 15 minutes late with no communication I reserve the right to charge a late fee on top of that extra time. If you come home early I still charge for the full time booked since I had to block that time out in my calendar, unless we’ve agreed on it beforehand.

Hi guys, I have my BSN in nursing currently studying for my license. I have babysat for over 7 years personally but worked with kids for 9 years since I worked in summer camps. EXPERIENCES: I have worked in clinical settings with children such as pediatrics and NICU. But I also have experience with children with autism and ADHD for over 4 years. I have also worked with children that have diabetes. I understand that patience, caring and love is key. I want each child to feel safe and have the space to grow. I currently work for a family taking care of two young girls. My responsibilities include picking them up from school, preparing them for bed, and cleaning/cooking. I love my job as each day I learn something new and relearn to view the world though a child's point of view. Previously, I worked transporting kids of special needs in the yellow school bus. I as well have experience working as a home attendant with children and senior citizens for four years. I am also a single mom of two daughters. One is a nurse and the other one is studying in college. In addition, I ,myself, am studying in college working to get my GED and associates degree for medical assistant. Originally from Orlando, Florida, I made my way north by way of UNC-Chapel Hill, where I graduated before ending up in Brooklyn. Over my nearly decade in NYC, I've worked with several families long-term, and I've also spent time as a long-term substitute teacher in Florida.
