Greetings Families, My name is Nicola I am originally from the island of Jamaica. I am a certified teacher for over 20 years specializing in Reading and Writing instruction for Pre-K-8th grade. Being a teacher is often times also like being a second Mom or Aunty to the children I serve. It is humbling and a blessing. I love to travel, be in nature, music, art, cultures, literature and sports. I love to share my interests and experiences with children and learn from them as well. I enjoy being with children because they keep me youthful and enable me to continue to see thee world in new ways, and stay in touch with joy, hope, love and learning. You can rest assured that when your precious ones are in my care, "Every little thing is gonna be alright."
“Nicola was fantastic! She arrived on time and prepared with a couple fun activities for our toddler. Our daughter loved her right away. She was professional, enthusiastic, kind, calm, and upbeat. She handled dinner and bedtime with ease and grace. We feel so lucky to have found her!”
Hi! I’m Valeria, I’m 26 years old. I’ve been living in Philadelphia for over 5 years, with a majority of that time being spent as a house mate for families with school age children. I now live independently, but continue to provide care on for those who request my help. Most of my childcare experience has been through family references, so this is my first time promoting myself online. In addition to living with families, I’ve also worked with children going through transitional periods in their family dynamic. I have an excellent understanding of providing not only the routine care and maintenance necessary to a child’s structural development, but also providing emotional support when it’s most needed. My skills include conducting consistent morning routines— getting kids up, making sure they’re dressed nicely for school/programs, making breakfast, and getting them out of the house on time. Evening and night routines have always followed the same structure. As someone who comes from a family of caretakers (my mom has been a nanny for almost 20 years, same as my aunt), I value the importance of a child’s wellbeing starting at the foundation of their care, and creating a stable environment where the family knows what to expect is the best way to ensure of that.
Hi! My name is Rivkah, and I work as an assistant teacher at CTA. I am currently studying forensic psychology and am deeply passionate about the field of psychology. I take pride in my skills, which I believe will enable me to understand and effectively work with children. I am certified in BLS and have received training in adult, child, and infant emergency care. I work with students aged 3-4, but I have been involved in childcare for various ages since I was 12. I love and am great with all animals, although I am best when it comes to dogs. I am currently on summer break and available to assist with any needs you may have. While I am comfortable with a wide range of services, I excel particularly with younger kids. As a teacher, one of my main responsibilities is to create projects that help children develop their skills and learn to express themselves. My work has provided me with extensive experience in meeting the unique needs of each child and finding what works best for them. I hope I can be of assistance! :)
Hi I am Lushay 25 years old I'm a caregiver with a passion for nurturing children's growth and development. With five years of experience in childcare, I've had the privilege of supporting families and providing a safe and nurturing environment for their little ones. Patience and creativity are my superpowers, which help me connect with children and make learning fun. I believe in open communication with parents, keeping them updated about their child's day and addressing any concerns they may have. Whether it's engaging in outdoor activities, playing board games, or exploring educational games, I thrive on creating a joyful and enriching experience for the children in my care. I am happy to assist with cooking, light housekeeping, and travel-related tasks. As a certified CPR provider, safety is always my top priority. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and your family.
Hi! I'm Sarah, it's nice to meet you! My education: I recently graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Philosophy. Currently I am a graduate student pursuing a Master's in Professional Counseling. I have taken classes on development and childhood as part of my course work. My experience with children: I have babysat mostly school-age children in the past (5-13), but I have some experience with toddlers as well. I also used to lead a crafting and learning time at a nature center in high school, where I taught kids about an aspect of nature/the environment and lead them through a related art project. I am able to help with homework and love making learning fun. My experience with pets: I have owned many different kinds of pets including dogs, snakes, birds, bunnies, and even an alligator! I love animals and am a fast learner for any animal I don't have experience with. A bit about me: I am the oldest of 7 kids, so growing up I often took on caretaking roles around the house. I loved tutoring my younger siblings, cooking dinner for my family, and generally "babysitting" them when my parents weren't home. My oldest brother is on the autism spectrum and has a variety of special needs, which has given me some first hand experience with what taking care of a special needs individual can look like. My siblings also gave me experience navigating dietary restrictions and severe allergies.
“Sarah works great with my daughter & we look forward to seeing her again! ”
