Hello! I’m Isabella and I am new to the city! I was born and raised in Venice Beach, CA. I moved to New York to be closer to my family who live on the east coast and to live with my best friend who will be attending graduate school at Columbia! I studied Psychology at UC Santa Cruz where I focused on childhood and adolescent development. Throughout college I was a nanny and worked at a local preschool where I was able to conduct my senior research project on emotional regulation in preschool aged children. I formed strong and lasting relationships with the families I worked with and stay in contact to this day. Many families I worked with prioritized Montessori schooling methods, so I am familiar with that style of learning. My first year out of college, I worked as a Teacher’s Aide at a school for special needs children. I worked with children ages 7-14 who had varying IEP’s for things like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD, among others. I was trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) methods to de-escalate high-stress situations. I am a highly patient, playful, and responsible person, and I take pride in working with families and children. In the next couple of years, I would like to go back to school for a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, as I am interested in relationship dynamics and communication strategies. In my free time, I love to be active and outside! I’ve played volleyball my whole life, so I am eager to find a rec league in the city so I can play.
