I've taught students from preschool through 12th grade and tutored refugee youth in Brooklyn, often without shared language. My teaching style is rooted in observation and adaptability. I performed on Broadway through my teens, then shifted into nonprofit work and volunteer teaching. I lived and taught at a school in India for close to two years, worked at a summer camp for refugee youth, and have held roles spanning operations, client experience, and learning and development. All of it has made me someone who pays close attention and builds trust with the people I work with. I emphasize technology-free, creative, and confidence-building play. I think carefully about who each child is and what they specifically need, and I bring that same intentionality to everything from an afternoon activity to a homework session. Hello, I'm Gina and I’m so excited to work with you! I’m a graduate of NYU where I received my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance (musical theatre). I’ve received in person guided and hands on training/instruction and certification in both adult and infant First Aid and CPR. I’m the middle child of three children, and one of 22 grandchildren in my family so I am very accustomed to being surrounded by young children running around! My mother has worked as an early childhood educator/administrator my entire life. Many of the tactics she utilized in her classroom were the same ones she used raising my siblings and I. I’ve learned much of what I use in childcare from her, including helping the young ones with their coursework! Hello! I have worked with families with newborns to preteens and as an educator with students from 2nd grade to 12th grade over the past 9 years. I’ve created steam and art programs for all ages, from toddlers to teenagers, that engage a diversity of learners. I’m especially interested in organizing non-screen related activities. Currently I am an artist with flexible hours. I'm available for household services, as well. I love cooking, art and the outdoors!
