Hello! I’m Naomi, a recent college grad from NYU and someone who loves spending time with children. I received my BFA in Drama and Film from NYU, so I am quite the creative person, and love doing dramatic play, music, and various world-building activities with younger children. Throughout college, I became increasingly interested in childhood development, and took many Childhood and Adolescent Mental Studies (CAMS) classes. These classes allowed me to learn more about the early development process in infants, children, and adolescents, which further my interest in early childhood education. I worked with Jumpstart while I was at NYU - a program that provided preschool aged children in underfunded schools more opportunities to learn reading and comprehension skills. I worked as a Corps Member, but learned the most as a Team Leader my senior year. As a TL, I worked with a team of corps members to plan session plans, find engaging ways to interact with children and increase their reading and comprehension skills, guide trainings and reviews of best practices for storybook readings and vocabulary lessons, and much more. I lead team meetings, prepared different effective activities, and fostered a positive learning environment. This being said, I do have a lot of experience working with 3-5 year olds in an educational setting, but also have worked with families with children ranging from 1 year to 10 years old. I myself am also an aunt to my lovely niece and nephew, and watched over them from when they were infants until them now being 3 and 1 1/2, respectively. Currently, I am the Lead Babysitter at Chelsea Piers Fitness in Flatiron. I love going on walks, doing activities, arts and crafts, and finding different ways to engage with children. I can also do light housekeeping and prep snacks/meals. I also have worked with several families outside of Urban Sitter, and can give you references if you would like :) Thank you for reading - good luck on your search!
“Naomi was great! Responded quickly and was punctual. Would definitely hire her again!”
I'm Camila, new to NYC and looking for babysitter opportunities! I'm a caring and experienced babysitter with a strong background working with children of all ages. I've been babysitting for years, including supporting a child with special needs, and I'm comfortable adapting to different needs and personalities. I've also worked as a Spanish teacher for kids, which I love incorporating into fun, engaging activities, and have experience in a daycare setting managing multiple children at once. I love working with children even in my professional career, where I’ve had the opportunity to work closely with child actors, producing, directing, and helping them train their performance. This has strengthened my ability to guide kids with patience, creativity, and structure. I can care for dogs/cats and light housekeeping and organizational tasks and errands. I'm patient, reliable, and truly enjoy creating a safe, positive environment where kids can learn and have fun.

I received my Master's in Elementary Education and am certified to teach K-6. During my graduate year of college, I completed a year-long internship and student taught in kindergarten, third-grade, and sixth-grade classrooms. Since moving to New York, I have taught as a lead teacher in a two year old classroom at a daycare, nannied over the summer, and taught third grade for two years in the Bronx. Hi there! My name is D'Nasia and these are few reasons why I am a great caregiver! Responsible: Babysitters need to be reliable and responsible, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children in their care. I am a very organized and responsible caretaker and treat children that I'm babysitting as if they are my own. Patient: Dealing with children can sometimes be challenging, so patience is a valuable quality to have when handling their needs and behaviors. I have frequently babysat children with special needs and my little brother is autistic, which has truly taught me the importance of being patient and empathetic. Good communication skills: I am able to communicate effectively with both children and parents. I have a "Babysitting notebook" that helps in understanding the children's needs and informing parents about their child's well-being; this notebook helps me monitor the child's allergies, safety concerns, play-time preferences, food-preferences, and more. Creativity: I am great at keeping kids busy and engaged! Whether it's watching Miss Rachel or planning engaging activities and games, I can make babysitting more enjoyable for children and myself. Adaptability: Children have different needs, personalities, and moods. My ability to be flexible and adaptable is key to handling various situations. Reliable and punctual: I am always on time (and by that I mean 15min early) to fulfill your responsibilities in a reliable and professional manner. Boundaries: I am great at setting and enforcing appropriate boundaries with the family in order maintain order and ensure their safety.
