Hello! I’m Isabella and I am new to the city! I was born and raised in Venice Beach, CA. I moved to New York to be closer to my family who lives on the east coast and to have a new experience while I am in the early stages of my career! I studied Psychology at UC Santa Cruz where I focused on childhood and adolescent development. Throughout college I was a nanny and worked af a local preschool where I was able to conduct my senior research project on emotional regulation in I nannied throughout college and formed strong and lasting relationships with the families I worked with. Many families I worked with prioritized Montessori schooling methods, so I am familiar with that style of learning. My first year out of college, I worked as a Teacher’s Aide at a school for special needs children. I worked with children ages 7-14 who had varying IEP’s for things like autism, dyslexia, and ADHD, among others. I was trained in CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) methods to de-escalate high-stress situations. I am a highly patient, playful, and responsible person, and I take pride in working with families and children. In the next couple of years, I would like to go back to school for a Master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, as I am interested in relationship dynamics and communication strategies. In my free time, I love to be active and outside! I’ve played volleyball my whole life, so I am eager to find a rec league in the city so I can play. I also love to travel and am lucky that my family prioritized this growing up, so I’ve been lucky to travel with them! My experience as a nanny has varied depending on each family’s needs, but I am familiar with school pickup/drop-off, snack and meal planning, homework help, bed/bath time, and planning daily activities. I have experience and am comfortable with overnights after getting to know the family and their children, as well as traveling as needed. Hi, I’m Sophie, and by day I work as an advocate counselor at a High School in Manhattan, which I have been doing for three years (I love it)! In my job, clear communication, trust, and honesty are integral. I work to keep kids engaged, on track, motivated, and to build their confidence. With that comes lots of chatting and working to make connections. I have been babysitting since I was in High School, and I have taken care of kids ages 2 months to 8 years old. Most of my babysitting has been with babies sustaining long-term relationships with families, and watching these babies grow into toddlers. I’m an avid sports fan, I play the New York Times games daily, and I’m always willing to try something new. Hi there, my name is Caitlin! I'm 24 and have been living in the city for the past two years, but am originally from Wisconsin. I went to university for Entertainment and Marketing, and now I work in Film and Television PR during the day, however I am looking to pick up more babysitting gigs as I just love being around kids! Growing up with three younger siblings and 14 younger cousins, I've always been surrounded by kids, so now that I live away from family, I'm missing that burst of joy. I've been a certified babysitting for 12 years (CPR certified, and Red Cross babysitting certified), and worked as a summer nanny for three summers during college. As far as age experience, I'm very comfortable with kiddos of all ages, from infants to teenagers, I love it all! My love for working with children started when I was around 8 years old when my mother opened her own preschool. Since she opened her school I spent as much time as I could there, helping every summer during summer camps, brainstorming new craft ideas, and helping her make sure each day was fun and exciting for the children. Through working with her for years I was able to get babysitting jobs for a variety of families. I used my knowledge of fun activities, crafts, and games from working at the preschool to make sure every time I was a sitter was a fun time for the kids.
