I raised two wonderful humans to adulthood, and have been teaching high school English for 15 years while earning numerous awards and commendations. I also come trained as a first responder through 15 years of experience with Search and Rescue which includes certification as EMR (including First Aid, CPR, and AED for infants through adults) as well as numerous awards and commendations. I volunteered for 10 years in the youth program at my church (Calvary Chapel, Reno/Sparks), worked as the lead teacher of the school-age summer program at Little Knights and Maidens, led the youth program at my local library for many years, and led my own children through myriad sports and activities (soccer, dance, 4H, Scouts, etc). As my own children are recently off to college, I find myself with more time on my hands, and I would love to serve my community while making some extra tuition money for my own kids. Tutoring of course can be included in the services listed.
I have been babysitting most of my life. I am a mother of 2, one 14 year old boy and an 11 year old girl. I am CPR certified and have a degree in early childhood education with experience in preschools and elementary schools. I have many personal and professional references. I love working with kids and am currently not working since I moved to Reno, so I’m just looking for occasional jobs. I also love animals and am happy to help with pets. I am a very clean and organized person and prefer to sit on the ground and play with a child rather than sit them in front of a device. I believe children are the most wonderful humans and have a deep desire to get on their level and see the world through their eyes. Having worked at an elementary school in the past, I also have experience with special needs children. I am incredibly patient and love to give love and comfort to everyone I interact with. Happy to help clean up as well (I have provided cleaning services in the past) as I know how difficult it can be to manage home, work, and kiddos. Please feel free to ask me any questions.
Hi, my name is Amanda. I’ve been a professional nanny over 10 years. I have taken many early childhood education courses, including the child psychology, health safety and nutrition, practices and principles of teaching young children, child and adolescent growth and development, child family and community, introduction to curriculum, and teaching in a diverse society. I started baby sitting when I was 16, and have always loved working with children. I am very patient, and have experience with developmentally appropriate activities and positive child guidance. If you choose, I can bring crafts and other activities such as story time with felt boards depending on your child's interest. I am also a great date night sitter. I live in Reno, but I’m open to travel up to South lake I do charge a flat rate travel fee to cover gas. Thank you for taking the time to consider me.
“Amanda took excellent care of our 8 month old son. We were visiting Reno and gone for the evening for a wedding. Amanda brought some children books to read, and communicated with us promptly when our baby was refusing his bottle of breastmilk. She managed to get him to drink some formula, and easily put him to sleep when it was bedtime. Highly recommend Amanda!”
Hello, I am Hailey, I have been babysitting 3 boys (age 2, 4, and 4) and 4 girls (3, 4, 8, and 10). I began caring for my first family at the age of 14 when she was 3. I cared for her for 7 years, adding on her 3 siblings (girls) over the years as they have been born. My second family was a single grandmother with 2 grandchildren (boys 2 and 4). I cared for her grandchildren for her while she is at work. I also help care for her mother who is in hospice, however she moved out of state early last year. My third family has custody of her grandchild with her husband. I cared for their grandchild while grandma was at work while her husband was sleeping for his job. She retired and no longer needs care for her grandchild (boy 4). I worked with a 9 year old and a 6 year old for a few hours in the morning before taking them to school for almost 3 years. Occasionally I babysat for a family with a toddler and an 11 year old for about 2 years. I have done pick up and drop off, cleaning, laundry, errands, arts and crafts (jewelry, painting, coloring, dioramas, ect.), music (trumpet, guitar, drums, euphonium, baritone, tuba, French horn), help with homework, cooking and baking, bedtime routine, school routine, sports (football, baseball, and basketball), and more. I have done a few semesters at Skyline Community College in San Bruno.
“Hailey was amazing - she communicated, showed up on time and did the required assignments with no problem. Definitely a gold star!”
Hi! I’m Ashlyn, a dedicated and caring childcare professional with several years of experience working with children of all ages in preschool, after-school, and summer camp settings. I’m currently studying Early Childhood Education and have a passion for creating safe, fun, and engaging environments where children can learn and grow. I’m dependable, patient, organized, and love building meaningful relationships with the families I work with. Whether it’s planning creative activities, helping with homework, preparing meals, keeping routines on track, or simply being a positive role model, I always strive to make each child feel supported and cared for. In addition to childcare, I’m happy to help with light housekeeping, errands, pet care, and household organization. I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. I look forward to getting to know your family and providing reliable, compassionate care!
