I’m an experienced caretaker and housekeeper with a strong background in caring for children and adults both on and off the spectrum ( including diabetes, autism, and ADHD) Currently working as enrichment teacher at bilingual French speaking daycare center part-time. (2:45pm till 6pm weekdays) I’m CPR/First Aid certified and background checked (through the daycare system and urbansitter ). *Can provide proof of authenticity* Also enrolled to school for Early Childhood Education Bachelors birth-2nd grade starting in the fall. In addition to childcare, I offer house care cleaning services. I have a knack for cleaning and organizing from a young age and take great pride in doing every job—big or small—with care, efficiency, and attention to detail. I consider myself a patient, loving, and precise caregiver/housekeeper. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the services I offer, please feel free to reach out. I’d love to connect and set up an interview! Have a blessed one everyone.
**fully vaccinated, immune as of March 20** Hey, everyone, Andrew here. As we enter the new normal, I'd love to discuss your specific childcare needs. In addition to my usual balance of comedy and care, I'm invested in the crucially important health of your family. An actor by trade, I'm also looking at a summer and fall without work or auditions, so I have more availability than usual. Don't hesitate to reach out. I have 6 years of NYC babysitting experience, and I live off the ABCD at 145th. Express trains for the win! I am background-checked and trained in CPR and First Aid, and you can get a great sense of my work from the reviews here on my profile. I'm an actor by trade and lover of yoga, animals, plants, and I'll always pay extra for guac. My goal is to have a positive impact on a family's day--and maybe a child's outlook--and I love to encourage creativity and cooperation in kids of all ages. I'm sensitive to sibling dynamics thanks to my two siblings (also searchable on here--Laura and Tommy), and I'm engaging, patient, and eager to get out to a playground, park, or library. Please note that I also request 36 hours' notice of a cancellation or shortening of a booking. After the 36 hours, I request payment in full for--at minimum--the hours originally booked. Thanks very much for your understanding! For bookings ending 10pm or later, I request a car home or money to book a car myself--since the trains get so strange late at night. Thanks immensely for considering me--I look forward to hearing from you!
“Andrew was so good with my (sometimes fussy) 5-month old! Andrew helped out for a week and was a lifesaver. He has great energy, is comfortable with infants and is a joy to be around. Highly recommend Andrew!”
*****Taking a few weeks off from bookings to focus on a recovering from a health flare up. Will hopefully begin taking bookings again around 9/15. Thank you for understanding**** *****Please note: I am immunocompromised and have an autoimmune disease so I cannot watch sick children and must limit time outside in extremely hot weather. Hi! I'm Ali. I’m originally from Seattle and moved to New York in 2015 to study acting. I joined UrbanSitter during college and have been using it as my day job ever since. I have 18 years of childcare experience, ranging from date nights and private nannying to daycare and summer camps. Over the last four years I have began working in arts education as a teaching artist and youth theater director. I’m the 2nd oldest of 10 so I’ve been around young kids my entire life and am used to watching multiple kids at once. Due to being CPR and First Aid certified since I was 12, I’ve gained years of experience watching kids with varying disabilities and medical conditions, and am very familiar with working with children who are autistic, have epilepsy, or have life threatening food allergies. My go to activities are coloring, board games, going to the park, reading, movies, and arts and crafts. Outside of childcare, I am an actor, writer, and run an indie theater/production company. I’ve spent the pandemic studying trauma informed, consent based rehearsal spaces and mental health first aid. Both of these skills have been easily transferable to my childcare work. I have experience teaching at after school programs using the Montessori Method and have been working more as a teaching artist lately, doing theater and improv with kids. Cancellation policy: cancellation less than 24 hours my policy is full payment. If it’s within 72 hours, it’s half the agreed payment, and more than 72 there isn’t a fee. If you come home more than 15 minutes late with no communication I reserve the right to charge a late fee on top of that extra time. If you come home early I still charge for the full time booked since I had to block that time out in my calendar, unless we’ve agreed on it beforehand.
I'm Marina, and I'm based in Brooklyn. I currently work part-time as the Development and Partnerships Director for a nonprofit providing education and mental health support to women and girls in Afghanistan, and I have about 20-25 hours a week available for a family in need of extra help. I have 19+ years of experience working with children, from newborns through high school, across nannying, daycare, summer camp, tutoring, and classroom teaching. I've cared for children in one-on-one and group settings, for families in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and internationally, including families with high-profile backgrounds. Depending on what your family needs, my time could look like after-school pickup and care, homework support, household logistics, scheduling, organizing, errand running, cooking dinner, pet care, or simply being a consistent and trustworthy presence in your children's lives. For tutoring, I specialize in English, writing, and critical thought for all ages, and cover math, science, and social studies through elementary school. I've taught students from preschool through 12th grade and tutored refugee youth in Brooklyn, often without shared language. My teaching style is rooted in observation and adaptability. I learn how each child thinks, what makes them feel safe, and where they need room to grow. My professional background is in educational and curriculum development. I performed on Broadway through my teens, then shifted into nonprofit work and volunteer teaching. I lived and taught at a school in India for close to two years, worked at a summer camp for refugee youth, and have held roles spanning operations, client experience, and learning and development. All of it has made me someone who pays close attention and builds trust with the people I work with. I emphasize technology-free, creative, and confidence-building play. I think carefully about who each child is and what they specifically need, and I bring that same intentionality to everything from an afternoon activity to a homework session. Of course, I still love a fun movie night! :) I've held certifications in Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR and am happy to be re-certified. I have a perfect driving record, I'm conversational in Spanish, and I'm an animal lover through and through. References available upon request. I work best with families that lead with compassion, open-mindedness, and joy. If that sounds like your household, I'd love to connect!
“Our baby liked her immediately. She listened to us and followed instructions well. She did a great job, will hire again.”
Hi, I'm Clarissa! I have over 10 years of experience as a nanny, caring for children ranging from 5 months to 10 years old. In addition to my nannying experience, l've worked as a personal assistant, making me highly organized and attentive to detail. I love planning engaging activities, from creative indoor projects to outdoor adventures on sunny days. I'm passionate about providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow and thrive. I look forward to getting to know your family and understanding how I can support your needs and expectations. Certifications: California TrustLine, First Aid, and Infant/Child CPR
