A little about me: I am respectful, responsible, , punctual, outgoing, and passionate about my work taking care of kids. I take things seriously and maintain a positive attitude while always trying to do my best. I love taking care of kids and taking part in activities with them indoors and outdoors. I enjoy getting to know them through fun activities and making them feel special during the time we’re together. I’m very creative and active. I may even have more energy than your treasures! I’ll be willing to help you if you want to have a date in the evening or if you want to hang out on weekends as a couple or with friends. (CPR Certified) Contact me and you won’t regret it! I can’t wait!
Hello! I am an artist with my Master's of Fine Arts in Acting from Yale, mother of two school-age children, and I have lived in NYC for four years. I'm happy around shy or high-energy children. I love finding ways to reach them that make them feel accepted and in a trusting environment. I love imaginative play, keeping schedules, and helping with homework. Siblings are great, too! Looking forward to meeting you and your kiddos! I absolutely love working with children! When I lived in Texas, I founded a children's theatre camp in Texas for ages 5-18. I developed curriculum, managed scheduling and instructed every class. I have worked as a nanny for over a decade before having children of my own and now take part-time work. Some of my favorite jobs included two brothers, ages 4 and 11 who enjoyed playing adventure make-believe and basketball, respectively, who I nannied for 3 times a week for about a year before graduating. I also loved my time as a nanny for three brothers, ages 6, 9, and 12 who had packed schedules to keep after school: practicing piano, doing homework and playing soccer outdoors, who I watched for over a year. I will also never forget the family who lived in my building here in new york, whose daughters - ages 4 and newborn I watched at least once a week, sometimes more, sometimes just coming over to play and visit; ballet, painting, storytelling, and going on adventures full of imagination and play were all part of the itinerary - all while keeping to the required schedule for feeding and bedtime, of course. :) Most importantly, I have 3 siblings, including two younger brothers, both of whom I adore. I am older than the youngest by 7 years, so by the time I was 13 I not only began babysitting professionally but also proved both my responsibility and joy to play on a constant basis as I watched over my brothers. I have an 11 year old niece who is the apple of my eye. I was 16 when she was born, and my sister worked full time, so my primary job in high school was to come over after school and take over for my mom and watch my niece for the day, starting when she was a newborn to around 2.5 yrs old at 2-3 times a week for long afternoons until my sister came home. I absolutely loved it!
“Rachel seemed very sweet, caring, and professional. My daughter warmed to her right away! I'd definitely hire her again. ”
Hi families, my name is Hermela. I have over 14 years of part-time babysitting and nannying experience. I am looking for occasional and part-time work. I love working with children and helping them grow and learn. I enjoy working on creative crafts and games with kids. I can help with homework or general tutoring, as I have worked as a tutor in the past as well. I am also comfortable with dogs and cats in the house. In my free time I enjoy going on walks and exploring the city, and doing pottery.
Hi guys, I have my BSN in nursing currently studying for my license. I have babysat for over 7 years personally but worked with kids for 9 years since I worked in summer camps. EXPERIENCES: I have worked in clinical settings with children such as pediatrics and NICU. But I also have experience with children with autism and ADHD for over 4 years. I have also worked with children that have diabetes. I understand that patience, caring and love is key. I want each child to feel safe and have the space to grow. I am CPR certified and have availability throughout the day. I am also willing to do last minute bookings! During the last couple of months we have all needed a break, feel free to message me for a date night or when you need some extra help while working. I love playing board games and building buildings with connective blocks! I currently have experience with a 3 year-old. I am accustom to picking up the child from school and taking her to activities. I love encouraging children to be who they want to be. For instance, if a child wants to be creative or sporty we will either spend the day painting or go an adventure through the park. I have also had experience working with a 5 year old who was very active. I can range with different ages of children because I have experience of working with children in an urban environment. The children were able to explore nature and it’s beauty. I try my best to enforce the safest environment possible with both the child and the parent. I have worked with parents usually for the long term but am looking for occasional gigs. A fun fact about me is that I have played and taught basketball, tennis and was a volunteer soccer assistant with the ages groups of 7-13. I also love to play board games and carry an Uno deck of cards for when I babysit with older kids. Will gladly do phone interviews and in person interviews. I also drive so don’t mind staying out late if you needed extra time! Feel free to message me for same day jobs! Thank you for your time
I'm Marina, and I'm based in Brooklyn. I currently work part-time as the Development and Partnerships Director for a nonprofit providing education and mental health support to women and girls in Afghanistan, and I have about 20-25 hours a week available for a family in need of extra help. I have 19+ years of experience working with children, from newborns through high school, across nannying, daycare, summer camp, tutoring, and classroom teaching. I've cared for children in one-on-one and group settings, for families in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and internationally, including families with high-profile backgrounds. Depending on what your family needs, my time could look like after-school pickup and care, homework support, household logistics, scheduling, organizing, errand running, cooking dinner, pet care, or simply being a consistent and trustworthy presence in your children's lives. For tutoring, I specialize in English, writing, and critical thought for all ages, and cover math, science, and social studies through elementary school. I've taught students from preschool through 12th grade and tutored refugee youth in Brooklyn, often without shared language. My teaching style is rooted in observation and adaptability. I learn how each child thinks, what makes them feel safe, and where they need room to grow. My professional background is in educational and curriculum development. I performed on Broadway through my teens, then shifted into nonprofit work and volunteer teaching. I lived and taught at a school in India for close to two years, worked at a summer camp for refugee youth, and have held roles spanning operations, client experience, and learning and development. All of it has made me someone who pays close attention and builds trust with the people I work with. I emphasize technology-free, creative, and confidence-building play. I think carefully about who each child is and what they specifically need, and I bring that same intentionality to everything from an afternoon activity to a homework session. Of course, I still love a fun movie night! :) I've held certifications in Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR and am happy to be re-certified. I have a perfect driving record, I'm conversational in Spanish, and I'm an animal lover through and through. References available upon request. I work best with families that lead with compassion, open-mindedness, and joy. If that sounds like your household, I'd love to connect!
