Hello, I'm Gina and I’m so excited to work with you! I’m a graduate of NYU where I received my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance (musical theatre). I’ve received in person guided and hands on training/instruction and certification in both adult and infant First Aid and CPR. I’m the middle child of three children, and one of 22 grandchildren in my family so I am very accustomed to being surrounded by young children running around! My mother has worked as an early childhood educator/administrator my entire life. Many of the tactics she utilized in her classroom were the same ones she used raising my siblings and I. I’ve learned much of what I use in childcare from her, including helping the young ones with their coursework! I'm Marina, and I'm based in Brooklyn. I currently work part-time as the Development and Partnerships Director for a nonprofit providing education and mental health support to women and girls in Afghanistan, and I have about 20-25 hours a week available for a family in need of extra help. I have 19+ years of experience working with children, from newborns through high school, across nannying, daycare, summer camp, tutoring, and classroom teaching. I've cared for children in one-on-one and group settings, for families in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and internationally, including families with high-profile backgrounds. Depending on what your family needs, my time could look like after-school pickup and care, homework support, household logistics, scheduling, organizing, errand running, cooking dinner, pet care, or simply being a consistent and trustworthy presence in your children's lives. I've taught students from preschool through 12th grade and tutored refugee youth in Brooklyn, often without shared language. My teaching style is rooted in observation and adaptability. I learn how each child thinks, what makes them feel safe, and where they need room to grow. My professional background is in educational and curriculum development. I performed on Broadway through my teens, then shifted into nonprofit work and volunteer teaching. I lived and taught at a school in India for close to two years, worked at a summer camp for refugee youth, and have held roles spanning operations, client experience, and learning and development. All of it has made me someone who pays close attention and builds trust with the people I work with. I emphasize technology-free, creative, and confidence-building play. I think carefully about who each child is and what they specifically need, and I bring that same intentionality to everything from an afternoon activity to a homework session. Of course, I still love a fun movie night! :) I've held certifications in Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR and am happy to be re-certified. Hello my name is Samara! I have over 10+ years of experience babysitting toddlers to teens. I have special experience babysitting children with ADD and ADHD. I was a volunteer at The Ronald McDonald House and completed 100 hours of community service. One of my main task was to assist in the operations of Kids Club where I organized educational and artistic activities as well as interactive games for kids in the club. I also volunteered for a program that aimed to empower young women ages 11-14. The program focused on their social and emotional development and events were tailored to enhancing academic skill, promoting self-esteem and community service and encouraging personal growth. I’ve created steam and art programs for all ages, from toddlers to teenagers, that engage a diversity of learners. I’m especially interested in organizing non-screen related activities.
