Hello, My name is Carly. I am a preschool teacher living in Queens. I have a BFA in Fine Arts from Purchase College and a MSEd in Early Childhood Education from City College. I have about 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of ways including as a camp counselor, teacher, and babysitter. I love working with children and enjoy learning about their interests and gaining an understanding of their perspectives in the world. I have a lifetime of experience working with children. I’ve been babysitting regularly since I was old enough, have worked as a full-time nanny, and have extensive understanding of childcare and learning through my mother, who runs a preschool in Connecticut. I’m very hands-on and love to craft, make things, and get immersed alongside kids. I went to film school and enjoy doing creative projects such as making short movies together, which can be a great way to combine storytelling, collaboration, and play. I’m also comfortable preparing meals and snacks, and enjoy putting together food that works for kids and their routines. I had wonderful babysitters growing up, and really can’t overstate how much I value the time I spent with them! I also spent part of my childhood in the city, and know how rich and engaging it can be for a developing person with the right kind of guidance. I was raised around Reggio Emilia principles (my mom is Bank Street–educated, and I went to a Reggio school myself), and those ideas have deeply shaped how I think about children, learning, and play. I aim to be someone kids feel excited to spend time with and parents feel completely confident trusting—curious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making each day engaging, supportive, and fun. Hello my name is Erica. I work part time at preschool and I’m also a graduate student in an early childhood education program. I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow and develop. I am looking for extra baby sitting opportunities on weeknights and weekends.
