Hi! I’m Valeria, I’m 26 years old. I’ve been living in Philadelphia for over 5 years, with a majority of that time being spent as a house mate for families with school age children. I now live independently, but continue to provide care on for those who request my help. Most of my childcare experience has been through family references, so this is my first time promoting myself online. In addition to living with families, I’ve also worked with children going through transitional periods in their family dynamic. I have an excellent understanding of providing not only the routine care and maintenance necessary to a child’s structural development, but also providing emotional support when it’s most needed. My skills include conducting consistent morning routines— getting kids up, making sure they’re dressed nicely for school/programs, making breakfast, and getting them out of the house on time. Evening and night routines have always followed the same structure. As someone who comes from a family of caretakers (my mom has been a nanny for almost 20 years, same as my aunt), I value the importance of a child’s wellbeing starting at the foundation of their care, and creating a stable environment where the family knows what to expect is the best way to ensure of that.
Hi! I'm Sarah, it's nice to meet you! My education: I recently graduated from college with a Bachelor's in Psychology and Philosophy. Currently I am a graduate student pursuing a Master's in Professional Counseling. I have taken classes on development and childhood as part of my course work. My experience with children: I have babysat mostly school-age children in the past (5-13), but I have some experience with toddlers as well. I also used to lead a crafting and learning time at a nature center in high school, where I taught kids about an aspect of nature/the environment and lead them through a related art project. I am able to help with homework and love making learning fun. My experience with pets: I have owned many different kinds of pets including dogs, snakes, birds, bunnies, and even an alligator! I love animals and am a fast learner for any animal I don't have experience with. A bit about me: I am the oldest of 7 kids, so growing up I often took on caretaking roles around the house. I loved tutoring my younger siblings, cooking dinner for my family, and generally "babysitting" them when my parents weren't home. My oldest brother is on the autism spectrum and has a variety of special needs, which has given me some first hand experience with what taking care of a special needs individual can look like. My siblings also gave me experience navigating dietary restrictions and severe allergies.
“Sarah works great with my daughter & we look forward to seeing her again! ”
I am an experienced educator who has worked with children of all ages, teaching arts programs for kids and teens and serving as Director of several arts schools in the Philadelphia area. I hold two master’s degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, maintain current Pennsylvania clearances, and can support your child with reading, homework, educational projects, and creative activities. I am also a lifelong animal lover. I’ve fostered many cats and rabbits, currently care for a dog and two cats, and have experience with turtles and fish. I’m comfortable providing attentive, compassionate care for a wide range of pets. In addition, I’m happy to offer caregiving and companionship for a senior parent or relative. My summer schedule has flexibility, so if you need a different time range than what I have posted, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to meeting your family and becoming a dependable, supportive, and fun part of your summer schedule.
My first babysitting job was when I was 13 years old. Now I care for my own 2 children, a boy and girl so I can play ball and dress up! I work as a Payroll Specialist FT. As a former school district employee, children's safety and education are important to me. I'm an active volunteer for back to school and related events. Look no further for a mature, responsible sitter that cares!
I have over 15 years of experience as a part-time babysitter for families in Los Angeles, CA for children ages 0 (newborns) to 16. I also helped raise my two nieces from birth to ages 8 and 9 respectively speaking with them in Japanese, Spanish, and English. I am comfortable with babies, toddlers, elementary age and adolescents. I also have 3 years of experience as a substitute teacher in Los Angeles, CA. I have done pet-sitting and house-sitting for friends. Currently, I work full-time as a grant writer for the City of Philadelphia's Department of Behavioral Health. I am looking for part-time evening and weekend work to supplement my income. I am flexible evenings after 5pm during the week and generally available on the weekends.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
