Hi! I am a rising senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, studying Spanish and International Affairs. I have several years of experience working with children of different ages and truly enjoy helping them learn and have fun. I began by assisting at a daycare for children ages 3-5, where I developed a strong appreciation for their curiosity and energy. I've also cared for neighborhood children ages 5-8 and spent last summer volunteering at a summer camp at the Children's Cancer Center in Tampa, working with kids ages 5-12. I'm an active and outgoing person who grew up playing soccer and competing in gymnastics, so I love planning engaging, energetic activities. I'm also organized, responsible, and have strong time management skills. Overall, I love meeting new kids and creating a safe, fun, and positive environment for them.
Hello! I am a nature-based early childhood educator. I recently moved to Nashville from California, where I worked as a lead teacher at Northeast Los Angeles Forest School for three years. I am originally from Wisconsin and have a deep love for the outdoors and the growing movement in education towards incorporating more opportunities for free play in nature. My work is informed and inspired by Reggio-Emilia and Montessori pedagogy, David Sobel, and Piaget. I am passionate about supporting children as they explore the wide world, and I enjoy finding engaging ways to facilitate happy, healthy development. I am a strong believer in the benefits of emergent curriculum and learning through play, and I have experience developing curriculum to support this. I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and I am currently working on an MS in psychology from Southern New Hampshire University with a speciality in child and adolescent development. During my senior year of college, I had an internship working at a respite center for children ages 6 and under with special needs, and had the opportunity to develop and implement individualized therapy programs for kids. Prior to this, I spent four years caring for children as young as six weeks and as old as twelve at a child care center in my home town in Wisconsin. It was there that I became a registered lead teacher with the Dept. of Children and Families. I have since taught at two preschools in Los Angeles, taken several continuing education courses and certifications, and conducted private care sessions for individuals and groups. I am Wilderness CPR certified, and I also have a valid license and experience transporting children. Currently, I am looking for part time work while I focus more intensely on my graduate degree. I am eager to finish the program both because I am an enthusiastic learner and so that I can move on to my next goal of starting my own forest school program here in Nashville. I am open to single family care or care-shares with friends, and I can offer academic support as well as creative ideas for engaging and developmentally beneficial activities.

## About Me Hi! I'm Jennifer, and I'd love the opportunity to care for your little ones. I've been babysitting and caring for children for over 10 years, from infants to older kids, including children with special needs. Every child is unique, and I truly enjoy getting to know their personalities, encouraging their creativity, and making them feel safe, loved, and supported. Most recently, I've been helping my boyfriend's sister care for her adorable twin babies, both under 10 months old. From bottles and diaper changes to naps, playtime, and keeping two little ones on schedule, I've loved every minute of it! I've called Nashville home for more than 10 years, and my family is also local, so I'm very rooted in the community and available to build long-term relationships with families if that's something you're looking for. I believe some of the best moments happen in the little things—reading bedtime stories, building blanket forts, dancing in the living room, going on walks, playing outside, doing crafts, or simply making a child laugh. My goal is always to create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment where children can be themselves and parents can feel completely at ease. Whether you need an occasional date-night sitter, regular childcare, help with infants, or experience caring for children with special needs, I'd be honored to help. I hope we have the chance to connect—I look forward to meeting your family!
