Friendly and reliable babysitter with 3–5 years of experience caring for kids of all ages. I’m passionate about creating a fun, safe environment, and I love dogs too! I have my own car, so transportation is never an issue. Looking forward to meeting your family!
As a driven educator with a Master's degree in Technical Communication and a Bachelor's in English Literature, I have over five years of tutoring experience specializing in creative writing, essay editing, and technical writing. Beyond tutoring, I have a diverse background in working with children and young learners: I spent several years as a part‑time ice skating instructor, served as a camp counselor at Camp Allen for two summers, worked at a church during Vacation Bible School and provided babysitting care for three families throughout high school. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect with students of different ages and cultures, foster patience and create supportive environments. My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating a collaborative and encouraging space where students feel empowered to express their ideas and improve their writing skills. I strive to connect with each learner by understanding their unique perspectives and goals, guiding them toward both academic success and personal growth. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy writing fiction and following current events. I am dedicated to helping students not only excel academically but also discover and refine their own voice through writing.
I would describe myself as an outgoing, energetic, responsible and overall patient individual. I enjoy working with children, as I believe they are our future! I also believe that working with children provides an opportunity to discover a new purpose everyday! While nothing is going to come easy, the gratification I feel breaking through to a child and seeing their face light up with that “ah ha” moment is worth it. I have been working with children for the majority of my life. As of right now, I work for a caregiving service that specializes in the care of children with special needs, called Cambrian Homecare, and have been here for about 3 years. If you allow me the chance to work with your kids, you have my word that I will keep them safe! As well as treating them with respect and care.
Hi there! My name is Zay :) I’m currently a senior student-athlete at Howard University, where I compete on the swim and dive team. Im health science major with a minor in biology. I have experience working with children through several roles, including as a Cast Member at Walt Disney World and as a Student Leader Intern (SLI) for the Children’s Defense Fund Freedom Schools program. I was also involved in my schools Best Buddies program and am well versed in communicating with kids with special needs. I am a MANDATED REPORTER and fully FIRST AID & CPR certified, so safety is always my top priority. Beyond childcare, I love coaching youth sports and creating fun, supportive environments where kids can learn, grow, and feel confident. I connect easily with kids of all ages and pride myself on providing both a safe and enjoyable experience for them (and peace of mind for parents!).
Hi! I’m Fatou, a Howard University student majoring in Psychology and double minoring in Biology and Maternal and Child Health with dreams of becoming a travel midwife. I’m experienced and comfortable working with children of all ages—from infants and toddlers to older kids. My background includes leading activities as an elementary summer camp program leader as well as tutoring and mentoring middle and high schoolers here in DC. I’m patient, super reliable, and always happy to help with homework, creative play, or any housework that needs to be done. I’m also a huge animal lover (I have a cat named Henry!) and would love to bring my energy and experience to help your family!😊

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
