Hello, my name is Jessica. I am a mother to a beautiful 7 month old baby girl. I have 2 dogs and a turtle and love to garden, cook, and read. I have over 25 years experience caring for children of all ages, children with disabilities, animals and the elderly. Most recently I have cared for a 4 year old boy with OI (brittle bone disease) and have provided hospice care for both of my recently passed grandparents. My proudest accomplishment is raising my two sons into caring young adults. Second proudest is earning my degree in elementary education at 40 years old. I have always had a love for working with children and helping them grow and learn. I currently work as a substitute teacher for Tacoma Public Schools, so my schedule is flexible. When my younger son was a toddler, he joined me at my job as a daycare assistant, where I assisted caring for a small group of toddlers, as well as provided one on one care for a sweet baby from when he was three months old until he turned one. I have stayed in touch with their family and have enjoyed seeing the young man he has become. I also spend a lot of time with my 5 year old twin nieces, and we love dancing, reading, and going on nature walks. I have experience in creating engaging and educational activities for children of all ages. I am currently learning ASL through weekly online classes.
