I have operated my own loving and successful licensed childcare when my own children were young. I have worked both professional and labor jobs in my community. I approach my work with a positive attitude and its important to me that each child feels safe and know that they are loved, unique, capable, and important. I respect boundaries & apply a Safety-First mindset. Besides raising my own 2 children who are now grown, I have extensive experience as a co-leader of a Kids Club program that served inner-city children & youth in South Seattle. I also have some special needs experience both before and after having my own children. Additionally, I have life-long experience caring for large & small dogs and a variety of cats of my own and others, including hamsters, a lizard and a turtle. Others’ dogs and cats seem to really love me, so it’s mutual😊🐶🐈‍⬛. I also have a masters degree in public administration, have worked for years doing social work throughout Thurston, Pierce and Mason counties and I have worked various labor jobs from food & auto parts delivery to pulling fenceboards at a sawmill. I bring a positive, can-do attitude and strong work ethic. I have received more trainings than i can list here, including first aid & CPR and mental health first aid. I support movement/exercise & can share about nutrition of foods in a positive, encouraging way. I am also quite capable with household odd jobs and I own my home, doing most updating work myself. I may be higher on the hourly rate chart, but I am more than worth it. I am open to negotiation as well & i give a slight discount to single moms & families in hardship situations. Most importantly, I am engaging with each child according to their personality and comfort. I consistently support parents’ expectations of their child(ren), and am ALWAYS honest, trustworthy and transparent. I am genuine & flexible. I am excited to meet you, your child(ren) & any pet family members too! Last, but not least, i wash my hands upon entry each time and practice careful food handling and prevention of spreading germs, etc. I am so rarely sick and have no allergies, so you never have to second guess about whether or not I am well and i have no problem caring for sick children when parent(s) absolutely must be at work.

I have more than 20 years experience caring for children in both a home and school setting. I raised children of my own, and had a small home daycare before they were school age. I then began working in the school system. I currently work as a certified behavior technician in Pierce county schools. As a caretaker, I love creating a calm, playful, and creative environment where children feel safe to explore, learn, express themselves, and build independence at their own pace. When caring for your family member, I am working specifically in the role of a nanny or caretaker. I simply draw on my experience and training to provide informed, compassionate, and attentive care. My current availability is Monday and Wednesday 3:30-12:00am, Fridays beginning at 1:45 p.m., and all day Saturdays and Sundays.
