Hi, my name is Kaleen. I just relocated to Seattle from Florida. I am a mother of a 22 year-old son, a 17 year-old daughter, and my little guy is Jakob who is 5 1/2 years old. I share custody so there are plenty of opportunities for me to pick up shifts when I don't have him. With that being said, I don't have any certifications for childcare training. I have raised three amazing children. I am kind, patient, loving, dependable, honest, hardworking, and I can assure you that your children will be in great hands. I have been in the healthcare field for 25 years working in hospital settings, emergency settings, in-home caregiver settings, and everything pharmacy related. I have completed one year of nursing school, hoping to finish the last year and work with chemotherapy patients. As a single mom, I understand most people cannot afford $25+ an hour, I can't either, so I am willing to be flexible with payments and rates. I have a Lexus SUV, so I can run errands or take your kiddos out to wherever you might love to go! Or maybe some of mine and Jake's favorite places. Please don't hesitate to ask any and all questions.
“Kaleen is was very responsive from beginning to end which I appreciated. This was my first time leaving my 6 month old with a non-family member and I was STRESSED to be honest! She put me at ease and the results speak for themselves. My baby cries and cries when anyone but me holds him and by the time Kaleen was done he was smiling and content. She put in the work to get my son to relax which in turn helped me relax. She was punctual, and comfortable with my animals. Respectful of the home. I would recommend her and would feel confident having her watch my son again.”
Hi there! I am the mom of 2 high school kids. I have a Masters in Secondary Education, and during the school year, I run my own math tutoring business, from elementary to high school students. I have 8 years experience as an art and science teacher. I am working part-time as a nanny for infants and small children. I have a lot of experience with infants and toddlers. I am an active and attentive caregiver: I sing to, read to, play with, teach, and comfort the infants/kids I nanny. I participated with my own kids in coop preschool. I still incorporate what I learned in preschool into my tutoring and nanny work: encouraging positive behavior, calmly setting limits, asking children questions, and really listening to children. I enjoy being around kids. I am a swimmer, outdoor enthusiast (hiking, biking and bird watching), and enjoy spending time with my family outdoors.
“Greta was an absolute lifesaver for our family. After working with multiple sitters and nannies, I can confidently say she was by far the best. She consistently went above and beyond, especially in caring for our daughter, who has special requirements. Greta and our daughter quickly became best friends—she was always excited when Greta came by. Greta supported us tremendously as new parents, offering thoughtful tips and advice when asked, and truly became part of our family. Even during our daughter’s “stranger danger” phase, Greta was someone she trusted and adored when others couldn’t calm her. We will absolutely continue to use Greta in the future and highly recommend her.”

Hello! I babysat through most of college, primarily ages 18 months to 4 years but up to 9 years. In high school, I occasionally babysat an infant, toddler, and preschooler over the course of about two years. I really enjoy spending time with little ones and getting to help them develop their skills. I currently work as a case manager for foster youth and I'm looking to pick up occasional evening shifts to help me through grad school.

"UrbanSitter is my go-to for quality sitters! I can book weeks ahead of time or easily find a same-day sitter when in a bind. I even hired a part-time nanny during a daycare transition. Customer service is helpful and babysitters respond in a timely manner."
