I also run a local Facebook group (Seattle Play Dates for ALL) that brings together parents and kids of all ages for connection and community. I’m a mom to a 4-year-old daughter who adores playing with other kiddos, and a 6-year-old autistic son who thrives with parallel play. Unless specifically requested, my little ones stay home with dad when I’m caring for your children. 😉 I’ve been babysitting or helping raise kids since I was 11 years old — having 60+ cousins meant there was always a little one who needed care! Now as a mother myself, my love for children has only grown deeper. I’m a former lifeguard (4 years) and CPR-certified. I’m playful, musical, silly when needed, and great at helping kids feel comfortable and engaged. I’m especially skilled at redirecting, calming, and supporting children who experience separation anxiety. I also have extensive experience with neurodiverse kiddos, including children with sensory processing disorder, PDA (pathological demand avoidance), OCD, ADHD, and other unique neuroprofiles. Supporting special needs toddlers is a huge soft spot of mine, and I absolutely love infants — I miss those newborn snuggles! My caregiving style is play-based, low-demand, and child-led. I believe parents know their children best, and I always respect and accommodate your parenting style and preferences (as long as they align with my own moral and safety standards). I’m a great cook, a fun companion, and I come with a full range of animated voices for bedtime stories. And no infant’s bedtime routine is complete without my famous “bébé massage” to help them drift off to sleep! I believe my pricing is fair, but I also deeply understand how hard and expensive childcare can be. Hello everyone! My name is Sarra, and I live in Greenwood, Seattle. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Public Health Global Health from the University of Washington (Go Huskies!). I’ve been working as a full-time community navigator. A significant part of my job involves interacting with families and kids to create fun activities and events. I am wanting to work as a babysitter a few times a week with families who need help after school, weekends or date night! I’m musically inclined and believe that music has the power to heal any wound. I’ve always loved children and was the most trusted family member to watch over my little cousins. I have experience working with toddlers, young children, and teenagers aged 3 to 17. I’ve also worked with children on the spectrum. In my experience, I engage children in activities they enjoy the most and provide them with ideas to explore. I go out of my way to find the best activities to keep them occupied, such as learning a new language (I’m multilingual and speak French and Arabic), writing, drawing, or painting. The activities can vary depending on the child’s interests and passions. Some children love reading sessions, while others prefer singing, coloring, and drawing with music on, or simply playing board games like puzzles and interactive Lego construction games! Exploring the outdoors is also a fun activity to do if interested! I can help with homework and tutoring in various subjects, including English, Math, STEM subjects, and many others.
