I am currently a student at the University of Washington and work as both a substitute teacher and nanny. I began my journey in childcare at a center where I worked with all age groups, from infants to school-age children. I later became a lead teacher of a toddler classroom and transitioned to leading a preschool classroom at another center. I hold an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education as well as the following certifications: Certificate in State Early Childhood Education and Certificate of Specialization in State Short Early Childhood Education - General. Other relevant certifications include First Aid, Pediatric and Adult CPR US, and Food Handler Permit. I am deeply passionate about fostering diversity and creating inclusive, mindful environments for children. I grew up in an in-home childcare that my mother ran for about 12 years. I have four younger siblings as well. I started babysitting at 15 for the neighbors and by the time I was 19 I was doing overnights with a 3 month old baby girl, a two year old and ten year old. It was a lot but we did it! I’ve had a few other families over the years but it’s been some time as I am now a hairstylist and have worked in restaurants for the last 10-13 years. I am currently 37 years old and have my own 10 month old little boy who will be with me most of the time. He’s a very good, smart little guy and loves big kids. He has lots of older cousins he loves to play with. If you’re worried about it being too much for me to handle, please don’t. I am with him all day every day, we like to go outside and do things if you are comfortable with that. I am great with children.
