Hello, Thank you for reading my profile. My name is Karen and I live in Santa Rosa, CA. My family has been here nearly 40 years now, we have migrated from "The Great Bay Area." I like being with kids and have extensive child care & background with my own family, helping to raise my niece and nephew years ago here in Santa Rosa, and helped with my nephew in Las Angeles a few years ago. The "after school shift", pick up from school, snack time, prep dinner, ect. :) I have experience as an asst. pre-school teacher for two years in SF several years ago and also taught Kinder Ski in the Sierra's, including intermediate skiing with middle school and high schoolers. Hi, my name is Ryann! At this time, I am only looking for occasional jobs as I cannot commit to a regularly scheduled babysitting job. I have a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice studies from San Francisco State University, and I am planning to go back to school to obtain a master's degree sometime in the next few years. I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations and boosters (including COVID-19), and I am trained in CPR/AED/First Aid, however my certification has lapsed. While in college, I took three courses specifically related to child and adolescent psychology and development. I began babysitting when I was 12 years old, and have worked with children of various ages over the years (newborns to preteens) as a babysitter, nanny, and volunteer camp counselor. When weather permits, I like to take the kids outside, for walks or to play at the park. However, I am just as happy staying inside, playing games, doing arts and crafts, or reading to the kids. I can also speak conversational Spanish. In my spare time, I like to read, bake, and make jewelry. Regarding COVID-19: I am happy to provide proof of full vaccination, including booster shots. I ask that all household members of families that I work with receive the vaccine and boosters when possible, unless medically unable. I expect mutual transparency; I cannot babysit when someone in the household is sick and/or has been exposed to COVID-19 and expect to be told as soon as possible so that the job can be canceled. Likewise, I will inform all families if I or someone in my household is sick and/or has been exposed to COVID-19 and will cancel the job with as much notice as possible. I will wear a mask while babysitting if preferred, just let me know! *Please note, for liability reasons, I will not drive children in my personal vehicle; however, I am willing to drive children in a parent or guardian’s vehicle, provided that their insurance policy covers me. Hi! My name is Natalie and I am currently attending graduate school online. I adore kids and have over 10 years of childcare experience across nannying, daycare, mentoring youth in foster care, and as a Crisis Counselor at a mental health program for teens. I truly enjoy working with any age group, with the majority of my experience being with ages 2-17. My favorite thing about working with younger kids is getting to witness their imagination and creativity, and for older kids, I love to witness them come into their true identity as they find their place in the world. While my personal approach to childcare is inspired in part by the RIE technique (which emphasizes respect, emotional attunement, independence, and allowing children space for authentic exploration and unstructured play), I have had the opportunity to work with such diverse families that I tend to begin my approach by asking the specific family I am working with what their needs are and what they are wanting from me, as I have received very different answers to those questions over the years! However, I do value time outdoors, limited screen time, and self-directed play. In addition to childcare, I also have extensive experience caring for pets, including cats and dogs, and can hold other tasks such as household chores, errands, transportation, meal prep, homework help, and organization as needed. Families I have worked with often describe me as patient, dependable, communicative, and highly intuitive with children.
