As a driven educator with a Master's degree in Technical Communication and a Bachelor's in English Literature, I have over five years of tutoring experience specializing in creative writing, essay editing, and technical writing. Beyond tutoring, I have a diverse background in working with children and young learners: I spent several years as a part‑time ice skating instructor, served as a camp counselor at Camp Allen for two summers, worked at a church during Vacation Bible School and provided babysitting care for three families throughout high school. I am a recent graduate of Elon University, with a degree in Statistics with a concentration in Actuarial Science with minors in Asian Studies, Finance and Accounting. I was a Camp Counselor at the JCCSF several summers ago, have volunteered at The First Tee of San Francisco, The First Tee of San Francisco, Horizon's (an organization that serves underserved students) and have been babysitting for eight years for kids for a wide age range. I love babysitting because I get to build relationships with the kids I babysit, and working with kids is something I love. Hi! I’m Amy, and I’ve been babysitting since high school. Working with kids has always been something I genuinely enjoy. I graduated from the University of Virginia, where I majored in Psychology and Spanish, and some of my favorite courses focused on infant and child development. I currently work for a school district, primarily with elementary school children, and also have experience as a medical assistant, which has strengthened my ability to stay calm, attentive, and organized while caring for others. I plan on returning to graduate school and am particularly interested in occupational therapy, as I’m passionate about helping children grow and thrive.
