Hello I’m Ashley; a 5th grade teacher offering child care, tutoring,and household services while public school is closed for the summer ☀️ I’ve been a babysitter since I was 15 years old. I’ve babysat children as young as 8 months to 12 yrs old. While in college, I worked at a daycare serving children as young as 1 yr to 3 1/2 years old. I helped students develop motor skills, social skills, practice sight words, and did lots of arts & crafts! After graduating with my degree in elementary education I started teaching in Arlington, VA public schools. I specialize in elementary English language arts, science, math, and history. I have a drivers license, vehicle, and willing to drop off and pick up kids to and from school/camp. I also offer cleaning services, please have cleaning supplies available.

Caring for children has always been a meaningful part of my life. I began by helping raise my sister, who is 13 years younger than me, and over the years I’ve cared for cousins, friends’ children, and others in my community. I started babysitting in high school and continued for several years, both professionally and informally, developing experience with children of all ages—from infants to pre-teens (up to 12 years old). I am confident and capable in managing routines, playtime, meals, and the unique personalities of each child. In addition to childcare, I’ve worked in fast-paced environments such as law firms, World Bank events and high-end restaurants, which has honed my organizational skills, ability to multitask, and calmness under pressure. I’m family-oriented, creative and culturally diverse. English is my first language and I speak perfect Spanish. I’m also familiar with Arabic language and culture, allowing me to connect with children from different backgrounds. With a foundation in arts and hospitality, I enjoy engaging kids through creativity, interactive play, and making meals fun and appealing. I’ve recently returned to babysitting as a way to earn extra income doing something I genuinely love, and I take the responsibility very seriously!

I have a lot of experience working with kids. I have been a gymnastics coach for the last four years working with infants all the way to teenagers. As a coach, my responsibilities have included running both classes, private lessons and summer camps. Classes and private lessons have really taught me how to most effectively communicate with kids, whereas working at the summer camps has allowed me to tap into my creativity, coming up with games and crafts that kids actually enjoy. I have always babysat on the side in addition to coaching, so I am also very familiar with any household tasks that might be expected of me- bedtime, making dinners, etc! If you have pets, I am happy to look after them as well. I grew up with two dogs and have a mini dachshund myself now- I love animals! I am very adaptable to your families needs and always communicate to the best of my abilities. Additionally, I am CPR and first aid certified!

Hi, I’m Virginia, and I work from home as an HR project manager with my own beagle-Bassett hound as a steady coworker. He’s almost 6 years old (DOB 09/2020) and playful, chill, spunky.
