I have worked in school districts for 10 years plus. Most of it was with special education, children. For the last five years, I’ve taken care of my very sick husband.. He goes to Dialysis three times a week of which I have already put into the hours I can work and he also has short-term memory loss. I have a great deal of patience and empathy for those that are younger and those that may have minor mental and emotional problems. I take very seriously what it is that I do. I do not consider these individuals as lesser people. I especially love children. I have 10 grandchildren, and I taught all of them how to swim. I was a major part in their lives and as a result of my support as has been told to me by my children, my grandchildren are stable and productive individuals in the society. But I mostly love and enjoy little one’s handicapped or not.

I grew up in an in-home childcare that my mother ran for about 12 years. I have four younger siblings as well. I started babysitting at 15 for the neighbors and by the time I was 19 I was doing overnights with a 3 month old baby girl, a two year old and ten year old. It was a lot but we did it!
