To summarize a little about myself. I have a Bachelor's degree in human development from Pacific Oaks College and an AS in Early Childhood Education from Pasadena City College. I have worked extensively in Early childhood education with ages ranging from 2 mo. to 5 years. I pride myself on being keenly aware of the special needs of my children and families in my care. I enjoy developing activities that meet their needs and help manage big emotions. As well, I never mind doing light house duty if needed. I love animals and have a rabbit and 2 large dog. Hi! I’m a 22-year-old college student at San José State University majoring in Social Work with a minor in Child & Adolescent Development. I’m CPR certified, have a valid driver’s license, and have my own reliable car. I have several years of experience working with children. I recently completed a school district internship where I worked one-on-one with children ages 4–12 in a middle school wellness center, and I currently work at an after-school care program Monday–Friday from 3–5 PM. My schedule may occasionally include minimum days, so my availability can vary. I’ve also worked at summer camps for the past 4 summers, working with children from kindergarten through 4th grade. As a camp counselor, I was responsible for a group of 8 children during activities, pool time, and field trips. I’ve also worked as a teacher’s assistant with 1st–4th graders, helping in the classroom, supervising recess, and accompanying students on field trips. Outside of work, I have experience caring for my 8-year-old niece and 4-year-old nephew. I’m very active and love keeping kids entertained! I’ve been dancing for 17 years and would be happy to teach dance, and I also played basketball for 4 years and enjoy playing other sports and outdoor activities. I’m responsible, patient, and genuinely enjoy working with kids. I’m also comfortable helping with light household tasks when needed. References are available upon request!

Hi there! 👋🏼 I’m Mar. I’ve spent over a decade working with children in many different roles, including nannying, tutoring, sports coaching, and behavioral therapy. Over the years, I’ve been lucky to build long-term relationships with families through UrbanSitter, Care.com, referrals, and word of mouth. I have a degree in Psychology and previously worked as a Behavioral Interventionist, supporting children through floor play and ABA-based care. I’ve also worked with children with different developmental and behavioral needs, both here in the U.S. and while volunteering in El Salvador. I’m currently making a career transition and have returned to nannying, something I’ve always genuinely enjoyed. I love working with kids of all ages, and I try to bring more to the role than simply supervising. I enjoy getting to know each child’s personality, interests, and needs and creating an environment where they feel safe, comfortable, understood, and free to be themselves. I’m naturally very hands-on and enjoy everything from homework help and outdoor activities to creative projects, outings, and simply spending quality time together. I value trust, communication, consistency, and building a genuine connection with both children and their families. Feel free to reach out with any questions! My rates vary depending on your child’s needs, number of children, responsibilities, and schedule. I’d love to hear more about your family and what you’re looking for. 😊

“Mar was great! She was on time and both my kids liked her! She asked great questions, and did a great job taking care of both my girls. We would hire her again for another day. ”

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
