First, a bit about my experience with kids: I'm a seasoned parent to 22 and 16 year olds who are turning into caring, conscientious and responsible adults who are excellent students with incredible work ethic. I'm proud of raising these two as a single parent! I currently work as a middle school teacher. Prior to that, I ran my own childcare business in my home for toddlers. It was pure joy to work with my little learners and the whole family to create a happy, warm, safe, nurturing environment for them to grow, learn and play! I hold a CA teaching credential and I have taught elementary and middle school grades full time and have subbed K-12. I have the gift of natural attunement to children and connect with them easily and joyfully. I also have the rare ability to work effectively with babies through high school students. I love discovering/encouraging what interests children have and designing activities or finding books that match their interests. I particularly love helping children connect with nature, both in spending time outdoors and in projects using natural materials. If there is the opportunity, I like to bring these interests to my babysitting work and I also have a huge collection of children's literature and bring books with me to my sits. I’m Nuna, I came from Brazil, I arrived here a year and a half ago with the au pair program, I lived with the family and took care of two kids, and then I started working as a nanny, I have experience with all ages, babies, toddlers and older kids too.
