Shanya 1 review
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Granada Hills, CA

Hello There, I'm Shanya. I'm originally from Boston, MA. and went to college in New York city, where I lived for about 15 years. I've been in LA for the past 3 years and I run a freelance design business from home. In addition to my design business, I spend a lot of my free time working several passions art projects. Some of the things that I'm passionate about include sustainability, creative experimentation and arts education as a means for personal development and discovery. I love teaching art to people of all ages. Some of my past project include; 1) developing a maker market / craft fair in Portland, Oregon that supported the local maker community while teaching craft skills to children and adults, and 2) working as an art workshop instructor for a off Broadway theatre company, where I lead children in works that were later used as set decorations. For example during a production of the Little Mermaid the children made sea creatures that were used to decorate the stage during the live show. If your kids are into arts and crafts, I would love to work on something fun with them!

Elisabeth 1 review
$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Granada Hills, CA

Hi! I’m Elisabeth. I truly enjoy spending time with children and animals—especially dogs and cats. I believe they bring so much joy and positivity, and I love creating a safe, caring, and fun environment for them. Spanish is my first language (I’m from Argentina), and I’m happy to speak both Spanish and English with families. I’ve been caring for children since I was young, helping neighbors as well as my sister. After moving to Los Angeles, I gained experience working with infants, toddlers, and older children. I’m patient, responsible, and attentive to each child’s unique needs. I also bring 18 years of professional experience in a different field, which has strengthened my reliability, organization, and communication skills. I look forward to supporting your family!

Elisabeth was amazing with our 10 month old baby.

Leilani 1 review
$18 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Granada Hills, CA

When I was a child, I was in daycare myself. As I got older, I began to also assist my daycare giver with the younger children. That period of my life would be the most hands-on experience with all ages when it came to babysitting. By living in a gated community, I’ve grown close with the people in my village, and at times I would be the oldest on the block so I would play and babysit the younger children for the night while the adults went out. In 2020, I was one of the founders of a Remote Tutoring business where I served as a secretary, and a tutor myself. We serviced Pre-K to 12th grade and I would tutor Pre-K to 8th grade in a variety of subjects. Given that I was a highschooler at the time, I was able to build a very strong bond with my students because at times, children tend to listen more to people who are closer in age with them. Shortly after graduating high school, I worked at a Coding summer camp in El Segundo called CodeNinjas where I babysat and taught technology essentials to K-5th, 5 times a week for 4 hours. Most recently as of this past March, I traveled to St. Louis, Missouri for spring break with my college, Howard University to service that community through youth empowerment, and violence prevention. For a whole week, I worked with plenty of children of all ages at different schools. Specifically, I assisted the youth by tutoring 1-on-1, intermingled with the students about college and general life, packaged 8 pallets of toys and school supplies for nearby recreation centers, community centers, and schools. I enjoy cooking and because of that, I am experienced in both preparing meals and cleaning. I have a high respect for all my elders since I am the youngest in the family and was raised by older generations.

Leilani was the absolute best with my 9 year old. She was punctual, the consummate professional, and instantly connected with my son. She exudes such warmth and passion for the care she provides which was observable and deeply valued. My son thoroughly enjoyed how present, interactive, and engaging she was and in his own words would “strongly recommend” her as she was among his favorite sitters to date. I'd rehire Leilani again without reservation and look forward to working with her in the future.

Sofia $22 per hour for 1 child

Hi parents! My name is Sofia and I am 26-year-old LA native. I am offering child care, pet care, and house-sitting. After nearly 5 years in the corporate entertainment industry, I realized I wanted to find a more fulfilling path. I began volunteering in my sister's kindergarten classroom and discovered my passion for working with children. A little bit about myself, I am a proud graduate of Loyola Marymount University, the oldest of 2 daughters and an avid reader! The people closest to me would describe me as hard working, trustworthy, and kind. I know the lasting impact adults have on young children and to be able to play a positive role in your child's life would mean the world to me! As cliche as this may sound, our children are our future and who they are surrounded with can make all the difference. I am confident that I will be able to provide a caring and supportive presence in their lives! I have reliable transportation, a clean driving record, and I'm a dog lover so happy to work with any families with dogs!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
