As someone who grew up with ADHD, I understand the importance of meeting children where they are and embracing the way they experience the world. I currently teach gymnastics to neurotypical kids as well as kids with developmental and physical disabilities and I really love working with this community. I know that inviting someone into your home to care for your children is a big decision and I value the trust that families place in me. I love building positive and long lasting relationships the families I work with. Hi, there! My name is Alyssa, and I am native to the Bay Area, having moved to LA in 2024. I love to read, learn about different cultures, cook, and spend time outdoors, usually by taking long walks around the neighborhood with my dog or just sitting outside and soaking in the sun. Having grown up in a big family I’ve always been surrounded by kids and loved it. Their happy-go-lucky nature and inquisitive spirit make it a joy for me! In terms of childcare experience: I've spent three summers working as a camp counselor for Steve and Kate's Camp in San Francisco. The attendance of campers varied on a daily basis but the Sunset location's average was around 130 kids. The ages ranged from 5 to 13. Every day was busy, and I never knew what to expect, but it was always a lot of fun. For three separate summers, I worked as a teaching assistant at my old high school, St. Ignatius College Prep, mainly working with middle school-aged kids.
