My passion for working with children stems from being a big sister to five siblings — helping them grow and being someone they looked up to made me realize how much I love caring for and guiding young minds. Over the years, I’ve built hands-on experience in various child-centered environments, including daycares, elementary schools, and recreation centers. Since 2017, I’ve worked with UrbanSitter, building lasting relationships with families who continue to request me. I’ve supported children through daily routines, including meal prep, school drop-offs and pick-ups, homework help, and enrichment activities. During the pandemic, I adapted to meet new challenges by supervising virtual learning, ensuring kids stayed on track academically while still having fun. Currently, I work in an after-school program with 6th to 8th graders, where I lead both an enrichment class focused on art projects and an active class that involves outdoor games and sports. Whether it’s helping with homework, planning creative activities, or just being a positive role model, I find real joy in being part of a child's growth. When time permits I supervise the children and assistants. As well as connect with parents and keep them up to date. Moreover, I worked at an elementary school in Hermosa Beach and at behavioral health network as a Behavior Technician. In regards to nannying I have experience all around - overnight stays, date nights, part time position, and full time position ( I was with my previous family for two years:) Mothers helper: I come in as an extra set of hands for a couple of hours to take care of typical household needs. Which includes laundry, tidying, organizing, and light cleaning. I am open to running errands/ grocery shopping - gas fee add on. This does not include childcare coverage, but can for an increase hourly rate. Nanny work: I enjoy spending time with children (art, reading, outdoor play, etc.) and helping them get out of their comfort zone. When it comes to activities with the child/children it really depends on what you’re open to as the parent. If I’m given a budget we could go to the zoo, aquarium, etc. Of course there’s always the park, library, and playing at home. I’m open to using my car when needed (with gas reimbursement:). Overall, I always keep in mind on what’s in the best interest for the child (of course, with the input of the parents). Note: Regardless of the type of booking I want to emphases that my job is to focus on the well being and development of your child/ children. I’m Briana, an experienced sitter for over 10 years. I cook, clean, and love to care for kids. From diapering to driving kids to their activities, I’m experienced with it all. When it comes to my style with care giving, I like to practice the just go with it method. Playing with kids, no matter their age, is a lot of improv. I enjoy forming connections with kids and supporting their natural preferences and curiosity, as long as they’re staying safe! I’ve recently been inspired by the RIE philosophy, studying and practicing it for 3 years. I enjoy nurturing each child’s curiosity, autonomy, and natural development. This means I create a calm and safe environment where kids can play at their own pace to naturally learn about the world around them, from infancy to childhood. I observe and respond thoughtfully to their cues as they explore and take it all in. I am the eldest grandchild in family, so taking care of little ones has always felt natural. During my 5 years living and studying in San Francisco, I worked extensively with kids whose ages ranged from 6months to 8 years old, often staying with one family for years as the children grew. I also had 5 months experience with an infant in Fontana. I love working with children of all ages and find it very easy to form relationships with those I care for. I enjoy singing, baking, playing outdoors and all things creative. I also teach yoga so I am always up to date with my CPR certification. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, and fish if you need help with pets at home. I also maintain my own small greenhouse and know my way around a garden, if you ever need help tending to your plants.
