With my B.A. degree in Creative Writing from Bard College, I love encouraging children to read, watch, listen, analyze, and create their own stories, whether it be through watching movies, dressing up, or playing improv games. Additionally, I enjoy cooking, crafting, decorating, and all the small efforts that make everyday moments feel just a little more special. I have a lifetime of experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes. For eight years, I have had the privilege of assisting families as a nanny for children from infancy through adolescence. I was previously with a family of 6 children, all under age 6, which included a set of twins on the autism spectrum. I am able to assist with homework and tutoring using various methods, whether it be visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. I am a firm believer in positive communication and believe it is important to teach children how to communicate their emotions. I use emotion cards or simply have a conversation and after a rough day I most commonly introduce art or sound therapy. I am experienced caring for more than one child at a time and of all abilities. I am happy to help prepare snacks and cook meals, light housekeeping, and swimming supervision. I am First Aid, CPR, and AED trained. I believe in open communication and will always keep you informed about your child’s day, using your preferred method.
