$26 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 4 families in San Leandro, CA

I grew up in a large family as the second oldest of five siblings, where I took on a caregiving role from a young age. With workaholic parents, I helped raise my younger siblings, which taught me patience, responsibility, and how to understand children’s needs. In high school and after graduating, I also worked part-time babysitting my neighbors’ children, further strengthening my ability to connect with kids and provide a safe, nurturing environment. Since moving to the U.S., I have continued working as a part-time babysitter and have developed strong childcare experience.

Heven watched our two girls for the evening. She arrived on time and immediately settled in with the girls. getting to know them and setting up an activity to keep them busy as we departed. All went well. Heven was very responsive and provided good communication. I definitely recommend.

Booked by 5 families in San Leandro, CA

Hi there! My name is Kennedy, and I am a professional nanny and Cal alum. I bring 9 1/2 years of childcare experience, including 5 years as a childcare attendant at the Bay Club gym, where I cared for children of all ages from newborns to teens. During my time there, I created and led engaging, age-appropriate activities for toddlers and school-aged children, supported infants, and also provided babysitting services for member families outside of the gym. For the past 4 1/2 years, I've worked as a nanny for numerous families, with a primary focus on infant and toddler care, while also caring for older children (part-time and occasionally). I'm fully vaccinated, CPR certified, have a driver's license, a reliable car, and experience safely driving children. I also have strong references and a deep passion for nurturing and supporting children's growth through every developmental stage! I truly love what I do and feel honored to be a part of each child's journey. :-) Thank you for taking the time to read about me and for your consideration!

$30 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 19 families in San Leandro, CA

Hi! My name is Elinor, and I’d love to connect with your family! I moved to Oakland two years ago and currently teach 7th grade. As the eldest of four kids, taking care of children has always been second nature to me—I started babysitting when I was 14 and haven't stopped since! While I love teaching during the school day, babysitting outside of school hours allows me to keep working with kids of all ages while helping me make ends meet. I'm open to all types of jobs and bring a ton of flexibility! During the school year, I'm mostly available for afterschool care and weekends, as well as during school breaks and holidays. I am also available for house sitting and pet sitting, both of which I have done many times over the years. I am fully open to traveling with families and doing overnight stay care as well. Beyond child care, I have a lot of experience with—and genuinely love—organizing. I'm always happy to jump in and help out with household chores, whether that's laundry, meal prep, or keeping things tidy and running smoothly. I hold a degree in History and Secondary Education from Grinnell College, along with CPR and First Aid certifications. Beyond standard babysitting, I teach 7th grade English and 8th grade math, so I am always happy to provide tutoring or homework help if your child needs extra support! Over the years, I've worked as a nanny, camp counselor, and swim instructor, so I’m comfortable with everything from driving to after-school activities and meal prep to organizing fun outdoor games and keeping kids engaged. I’d love to chat and see if I’d be a good fit for your family! Warmly, Elinor Hanley

$45 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 3 families in San Leandro, CA

Hi! My name is Alma , I have extensive experience caring for children ranging from newborns to seventeen years. My first babysitting jobs was at the age of fifteen, then I’ve raised five kids of my own. When all my children were old enough, I took care of a family who had a three month old child when I first started working for them, they had two other children while I was taking care of their eldest child. I took care of their newborn children until the oldest sibling was seventeen. I started as a nanny ,however, the job turned into a family assistant/ nanny as I ran the house hold and helped with families personal matters.

Alma was very patient and attentive in caring for our six month old.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
