Abigail $20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in San Marcos, CA

Hi! My name is Abigail, and I am currently a student at UCLA. I have been babysitting for over four years and have experience caring for children of all ages, from infants and toddlers to middle schoolers. Working with kids is something I genuinely love, and babysitting has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I enjoy getting to know each child's unique personality and creating a fun, safe, and positive environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves. Whether that means playing outside, doing crafts, reading stories, helping with homework, baking, or simply keeping little ones entertained, I always try to make our time together engaging and enjoyable. Families often describe me as patient, responsible, caring, and dependable. I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident leaving their children with someone they trust, and I take that responsibility very seriously. My goal is always to provide attentive care while making sure your children feel supported, safe, and have fun. As a UCLA student, I am organized, hardworking, and able to balance responsibilities well. Most importantly, I truly love spending time with children and helping them learn, grow, and feel valued. I would love the opportunity to get to know your family and become someone both you and your children can count on!

Valerie $20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in San Marcos, CA

Hello families, thank you for taking the time to read this! My name is Valerie and I'm a proud mom to my 21 yr old son, my 18 yr old son, and my 15 yr old daughter. With more than two decades raising my three children in Cardiff & Encinitas and managing our busy household of five (seven, counting our pups!), I'm deeply grateful to be able to continue to devote myself to the care and well-being of children and their families. I loved that our home was often the place where my children and their friends chose to play, hangout, or work on school projects together. I'm equally happy and comfortable getting the chance to spend time rocking and soothing your newborn at 2am, sitting on the floor next to your children playing their favorite games, helping with their homework, teaching them how to bake or how to make homemade play-dough, as I am taking them to the beach, to the park, having an impromptu dance party, or being able to drive a carload of children to and from school and their activities, and even hosting your child's birthday party along with 20 of their guests. My priority is always to make sure your children are and feel safe and supported. Even in stressful situations, I am calm and patient, meeting each child where they are in that moment. I am dependable, emotionally mature, and have a high level of energy and the ability to adapt easily to changes. I value clear and open communication. In addition to my years caring for my own children, I bring with me over 40 yrs of experience caring for other families' children, beginning in my early teens babysitting for families in University City. While earning my BA in Psychology at SDSU, I worked for a busy family daycare and as a part-time nanny. I have a social work background working with young adults with developmental disabilities and I have extensive experience supporting (and raising) neurodiverse children. I also volunteered weekly for many years in each of my children's classrooms, from preschool through 6th grade, gaining classroom experience supporting both students and teachers. I understand the trust it takes to allow someone else to care for your child and the importance of finding the right match to fit your family. I look forward to having the opportunity to meet you and your family and finding out how I can best support you!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
