Dakota $24 per hour for 1 child

Hi! My name is Dakota. I’m 18 years old and recently moved to Santa Cruz in December. Working with kids is something I genuinely love and have been doing for most of my life. Prior to moving to Santa Cruz, I was a huge part of raising and caring for my niece (7), nephew (8), and little sister who turns 3 this year. Being around kids has always come naturally to me, and I truly enjoy creating a fun, safe, loving, and supportive environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. I also previously cared for a family with a 1-year-old and a 3 year old, which gave me even more hands-on experience with different ages, routines, and personalities. I’m very active and love getting kids outside for walks, park trips, beach days, and little adventures, but I also love slower indoor activities like painting, coloring, puzzles, play dough, reading stories, and creative play. I’m totally comfortable with low or zero screen time, but I’m also flexible with whatever works best for your family! A little about me, I have my license, a clean driving record, and a reliable SUV. I graduated high school in June 2025 and eventually plan to attend cosmetology school, but for now I’m focused on working and finding a family that feels like a great fit. I’d love to hear more about your routines and what’s most important to you in a nanny/caregiver. I’m extremely patient, warm, affectionate, dependable, and always willing to ask questions to make sure I’m supporting your family the best way possible. I’m not CPR certified yet, but I’m absolutely willing to get certified. I’m also flexible with scheduling as long as there’s communication in advance. I’d love to connect more and hear about your family! Please feel free to ask me any questions at all. I look forward to hearing from you!

Milagros 1 review
$30 per hour for 1 child

Hi, my name is Milagros, I am 26 years old, and I am a bilingual nanny (Spanish-English) with experience caring for babies, toddlers, and children of different ages. During my experience as an Au Pair in the United States, I had the opportunity to care for a baby from 5 months old, supporting her growth and development through each stage. Currently, as part of my Au Pair program, I care for six children together with my sister, including babies, toddlers, and older children. This experience has helped me develop a lot of patience, responsibility, and confidence working with multiple children at the same time. I consider myself a very loving, patient, responsible, and attentive person. What I value most in my work with children is creating an environment where they feel safe, loved, and happy. I don’t only enjoy caring for children, but also supporting their learning, teaching them values, and helping them develop their skills with love and respect. I enjoy planning activities such as reading, singing, playing, doing crafts, and teaching Spanish if the family is interested. I love music; I studied music in Peru, and I enjoy singing and sharing that passion with children. I also love animals and would be happy to help with their care if needed. I am a clean, organized, and respectful person when entering a family’s home. For me, it is important to provide trust and peace of mind while caring for children with love and dedication. I would be happy to meet your family and have the opportunity to support you in caring for and helping your children grow.

Milagros was a caring and helpful presence in our home. She enjoyed singing and listening to songs with our child, bringing a sweet and warm energy to our home. She kept our house clean through regular vacuuming and mopping, and she is a good cook. She meticulously took notes to learn new recipes tailored for our toddler and offered much needed assistance with meal prep. She also helped with laundry, organising toys and our toddler’s closet. While managing fussy eating and nap schedules presented a learning curve, Milagros showed a strong desire to improve. With more time, experience, and gentle guidance, she will naturally continue to build her confidence, pacing, multitasking, and routine management. Overall, Milagros is a hard-working, well-meaning caregiver who makes a genuine effort every day, and we wish her all the best in her next role.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
