Hi! My name is Kayla, and I’m currently a law student at USC. I’m excited to spend my summer helping families with dependable, attentive, and engaging childcare. I’ve always loved working with children and have experience through tutoring, as well as growing up as 1 of 10 kids with many nieces and nephews. Being part of a big family has given me plenty of hands-on experience caring for children of different ages, and I genuinely enjoy creating a safe, positive, and fun environment where kids feel comfortable being themselves. Whether that means helping with homework, reading stories, getting creative with arts and crafts, exploring at the park, or doing mini science experiments, I love finding activities that keep children engaged and excited to learn. I’m responsible, organized, patient, and comfortable balancing busy schedules and high levels of responsibility. I’m happy to help wherever needed, whether that’s preparing simple meals, keeping routines on track, or lending an extra set of hands to make your family’s day run more smoothly. As the proud owner of a Saint Bernard and a Bernese Mountain Dog, I have plenty of experience caring for large dogs and would be happy to help in pet-friendly households (including homes with cats!). I hold a Master’s degree in Fundamental Medicine and Biology, with a strong background in pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, and developmental biology. Over the past 7+ years, I have worked with newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-age children, providing attentive, safe, and developmentally enriching care. Beyond childcare, I am also a professional family assistant and photographer, offering an extra layer of support and capturing precious family moments. Dear Parents, I am a former preschool teacher looking to make some extra money. I AM ONLY AVAILABLE TEMPORARILY. I can’t do a permanent gig right now. My graduate degree is in Primary Education and I have a valid Child Development Permit issued from California. Currently, I am free some days, most evenings and on weekends.
