$29 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 5 families in Valley Village, CA

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth and I currently work at a school with children from ages 5yrs to 16yrs. I’ve been working there for over 20 years. I also used to have my own family child care and would care for children ages newborns and up. I opened up my own family child care because I enjoy working with children. My passion is making children happy and seeing them smile. I enjoy various outdoor activity including painting, dancing, singing, etc. I’ve worked at a senior center and have cared for senior family members. I enjoy helping others!

Elizabeth was able to jump right in and take in our hurried instructions for bedtime while we had to run out the door. She let us know how the kids were doing during the next few hours and was professional, courteous, and very skilled. She was not phased by our kids not wanting to have a babysitter and taking a while to warm up.

My experience includes not only occasional babysitting but also work as a full-time nanny. It is very rewarding to be with a family for several years and see children grow I have done yoga with kids, arts and crafts, coloring, drawing, painting, read books, took kids to story time at the library, made cards, decorated cookies for Halloween and Christmas, made gingerbread houses, went to doctors appointments, went to mommy and me classes with babies and their moms, took kids to play areas/indoor playgrounds, parks and outdoor playgrounds, scavenger hunts, went to piano recitals, did zoom ballet classes, went swimming in the pool and at the beach, went to the farmers market with kids, grocery shopping and cooking together, you name it: I’ve done it! I have a holistic approach and I like Waldorf, Montessori and gentle parenting philosophies and ideas but I am also flexible and follow whatever guidelines the parents like and advise. My interests outside babysitting include volunteering, community organizing, vegan food (I’ve been vegetarian for over a decade), mindfulness and meditation and I love dogs (I’m obsessed with my pugs lol) I also like reading and started my own book club last year.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
