Karen $21 per hour for 1 child

Hi! I’m a reliable and easygoing babysitter who really enjoys working with kids. I’m currently a student, and that’s helped me become super organized, patient, and good at communicating things I bring into babysitting every day. I have about 2 years of experience caring for children of different ages. I’ve helped with things like homework, meals, bedtime routines, and keeping kids entertained with fun activities. I’m also happy to help out around the house when needed to make things easier for parents. I love caregiving because I genuinely enjoy spending time with kids and getting to know their personalities. It’s really rewarding to be someone they feel comfortable with while also helping them learn and have fun. A little about me: I’m patient, creative, and dependable. I love doing things like arts and crafts, playing games, or just finding fun ways to keep kids engaged. Families can count on me to be responsible, positive, and easy to work with!

Catherine $18 per hour for 1 child

I'm originally native to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where I lived with my single mother. She's been a teacher for 18 years now, having taught and looked after children as young as newborns and as old as middle school. This naturally transitioned into caring for these children outside of school hours - and when she acquired a second job, she passed these babysitting and tutoring opportunities on to me, whom the parents had come to know and trust. All throughout my teens I've cared for and tutored a revolving door of children of all ages. As soon as I entered high-school, I began to work for summer and winter camps as a co-counselor, loving the trips and the events and how every day felt like an adventure. I then graduated high-school and moved to New Haven, CT to pursue my scientific passions at Yale University, where I majored in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. It was at Yale that I discovered a deep love of medicine, and more than that, of helping people and seeing the change one person can make in the life of another. On my summers off, though, I continued to assume the role of a mentor and counselor during Yale Summer Session, becoming a resource for students both younger and older than myself. I've worked and volunteered in many positions relating to science, healthcare, and wellness, all with the goal of one day entering the field of medicine. I've helped treat and educate patients of all ages, old and young, working to make healthcare and medical services available to all. Having recently graduated, I'm now working towards becoming certified as a CNA and EMT, so that I might explore the extremely diverse roles in healthcare, and gain a better understanding of what kind of role I'd like to eventually pursue. In my training for both, I've done many clinical rotations in both nursing homes and ambulances, getting a hands-on feel for both day-to-day care and emergency situations - skills that have translated well into caring for others.

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
