Kendall 2 reviews
$20 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 1 family in Washington Navy Yard, DC

Hi! My name is Kendall. I am a 25 year old female living and working in DC. Growing up, I lived a quarter mile from my elementary school and was constantly surrounded by families with kids my age - we all walked to school together in the mornings down the same road. As I became a teenager and young adult, I took a lot of opportunities to care for my school friends younger siblings on our street, and gained a lot of experience with taking care of young kids. After my first year of college, I worked as a counselor at a sleep away camp in the Poconos. For 10 weeks I had to make sure all 10 of my girls got to their daily activities on time, had all their meals, brushed their teeth, and got to bed before curfew. Since then, I have occasionally baby sat or pet sat. Most recently I worked as a tutor three days a week for a family in Washington D.C., teaching math and english to a 3 year old and a 6 year old. I have a variety of experiences with care giving, am very patient, and responsible. I have been around kids all my life and as an older kid on our street I naturally became a caregiver to other families in our area.

Kendall was terrific with our two kids (age 5 and 7). She was really thoughtful about learning their routine. Our kids were immediately comfortable with her and started playing right away. Highly recommend!

"We absolutely LOVE Isa — our family was so fortunate to have found her through UrbanSitter. I'm a first-time mom, and it took me a long time to find a full-time nanny I could trust to care for our sweet infant boy. Our boy connected with her immediately, and we couldn't have asked for anyone else to care for him. Her calming presence was also perfect for parents like us who work from home. We feel so lucky UrbanSitter helped us find someone who has truly become a part of our family."

"I was so stressed about finding a part-time nanny for my 14-month-old son, who has moderate separation anxiety and hadn't been left with anyone but family before, but we were both immediately at ease in Buhay's presence. Her empathy and commitment to understanding child development are apparent in every interaction I've witnessed between her and my toddler. I feel very lucky to have found her."

"Erna watched our now 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son for a few years. She is punctual, responsible, honest, and playful. What we appreciated most was that she was thoughtful in ensuring that we had a little break; for example, when the kids were clingy, she was able to divert their attention with games or songs or walks to the park. We felt very comfortable leaving our kids with Erna because of her caring nature and experience that spans a decade (including being a live-in nanny)."
