Hi, I’m Gracie! I am 27 years old and have over 10 years of experience working with children. I started out volunteering in after school care when I was a teenager. My passion for childcare began early in life, as I found myself the older sister to 5 wonderful younger siblings. Most of my younger siblings are over 10 years younger than me, so I began to help out with their care from an early age. Doing so helped spark my desire to go into childcare professionally. I have also worked a lead teacher for an elementary after school program in Fulton county, as a teaching artist for a theatre education and outreach program in Atlanta, and as an in-home nanny/babysitter for various families for the past 10 years. I have professional experience with children of all ages (infants - teens), and I am also able to help with housekeeping duties, pet care, and homework/tutoring if needed. I am currently open to occasional/date night, part-time, or full time jobs. I am hoping to work with a small pool of families so that I am able to focus on forging strong connections with you and your children! I am also open to working with only one family if it is the right fit for both of us. My approach: In my work, it is key for me to connect with each child as an individual. I am a firm believer that children should be treated as people with their own interests, likes, and dislikes, and that these things should be respected and honored. For that reason, I do my best to tailor my approach to each child and the ways that they learn best. That being said, I love to engage with children through creativity. I love to do activities that involve storytelling, crafts, music, and more. My long term goals include pursuing my PhD as well as my personal acting and writing goals, while also continuing to work in theatre education and outreach. During my sophomore and junior of high school, I was in an early education class where there was a daycare with 2 to 4 years old I would interact with them three days a week. We would do different activities with them For example, we would go on the go outside on the playground, make art projects, helped them with their ABCs and counting. Since joining the site, parents have trusted me to watch their Two and four year old siblings. Occasionally, I also watch sisters that are five and 10 years old. Most recently I’ve been trusted take care of a six month old for the day and the allowed me to bring her to my apartment since the grandmother was at work, and the mother was traveling. I love the way their minds work. They are so smart and so intelligent at such a young age is very interesting. I will care and look after your children as if they are my own.
