Hi! My name is Maddy and I’m 29 years old. I have recently moved to the Avalon area in Chicago and am seeking a full-time position as a nanny. In August of 2019, I graduated from Montclair State University in New Jersey with a degree in Child Advocacy and Policy. I have lots of experience working with children and nannying. My first nannying position was in 2017 where I spent the summer as an au pair in Spain caring for three children aged 3,5, and 7. During my senior year of college, I spent my mornings nannying an 8-year-old girl. During the summer of 2018 and 2019, I worked in the Goddard School as a lead teacher for classrooms of up to 20 children between the ages of 2 and 4. I have plenty of experience with potty training, meal-time, nap time, and implementing a schedule and lesson plans. I have also worked as a nanny the past five years in Nashville ranging from newborn to six-years old!

I grew up in a big family and always found myself taking care of the younger kids. I am an elementary education major so in high-school I took a preschool class that allowed me to get experience with 3-5 year olds. Then I joined my churches nursery so I got a little over a year of experience with infants and 2-3 with toddlers. I babysit my 3 month old niece often. I work at a daycare where I float around a lot. That has allowed me to have 8 months of experience with all ages up to 4-5. The child’s wellbeing has always been my priority but also making sure they’re having fun. Working at a daycare has also taught me to communicate better with kids and parents. Knowing what helps them when they can’t really speak for themselves or can’t form full sentences. After the daycare I became a director at a summer camp/after school program which gave me experience with ages 5-12.

I’ve been an aunt since I was 6 years old to now 6 kids, 3 nephews and 3 nieces. I’m the youngest from my 6 siblings which led to them always leaving their children with me but I never saw it as a problem because I’ve always loved them so so so so much. The youngest at the moment is 2 years old and I cannot get enough of her. My boyfriend has two little siblings ages 4 and 6 and I have such a strong bond with them too. Everywhere I go, kids just love me and I love them harder.
