Hi! My name is Jennifer. I’m 35 years old and have been a trusted nanny and sitter for nearly 20 years. Caring for children has always been something I truly enjoy, and I feel very grateful that I’ve been able to work with so many wonderful families over the years. I have worked long-term with three families in Chicago up until the end of last year, each with two boys ranging from infancy to 13 years old. During that time, I supported daily routines including morning and evening care, meal preparation, and school drop-offs. I’ve guided children through developmental milestones, fostered independence, and helped manage sibling dynamics with patience and consistency. These experiences have given me the versatility and skill to adapt to the unique needs of each child and family. I recently transitioned out of working in Chicago and am now spending more time in central Illinois to be closer to family. While I’m here, I’m also beginning to build my own small business in copywriting. My approach to childcare is rooted in patience, respect, and open communication. I believe children thrive in environments where their emotions are acknowledged, their independence is encouraged, and they feel safe expressing themselves. I tend to align with Montessori-inspired ideas and believe discipline should always be thoughtful, respectful, and focused on helping children understand their feelings and actions. Outside of childcare, I love reading, studying health and wellness, spending time outdoors, and enjoying nature whenever I can. I’m also currently learning to play the piano, which has been a fun new challenge. I’m a big animal lover as well and have a tortoiseshell cat of my own, so pets are always a bonus in the home. There is no greater compliment to me than being someone a parent feels they can truly trust with their children. I care deeply about creating a calm, supportive environment where kids feel safe, respected, and cared for.

I’ve had the opportunity to nanny for 20+ families, whether it be ocasional sitting or reoccurring, I am equipped for the job. I have also worked for the Chicago Park District for three summers. Over that time I’ve cared for hundreds of children. I’ve learned how to best plan and execute daily activities. I am attentive and open to learning how to care for each and every person.

I'm a recent graduate from Howard University with a degree in International Affairs and Community Development. My first experience working with children was at Blackstone Bicycle Works, teaching youth 6-13 how to ride a bike, bike mechanic skills, customer service skills, as well as lots of mentoring and tutoring. I've babysat siblings ranging from 4-10 yrs old since I was 16. I recently left my teaching position at Chicago Excel Academy in the Roseland community and wanted to jump back into more personal youth development and care. I love leaving a positive impact on children's lives and being the person to make them smile. I love being able to be apart of making children the best versions of themselves through proper support, love, and activities best for that particular child. I'm an activist and work hard for my community and taking care of/loving children is a huge part of that commitment.

My name is Kayla. I’m a Chicago native with a background in hospitality. I began working as a CNA in high school at 16 and have been caring for people of different backgrounds since. I briefly studied children’s developmental sciences at NYU. I’ve worked with geriatric patients, patients with visual and physical impairments, developmental delays such as autism as well as some with memory loss disorders. I have 12 siblings and have cared for my nieces and nephews endlessly over the years. My most recent care has been with my nephew who is autistic, 5 now, who was fed via gtube for the first 2 years of his life. I love working with children and being hands on. I’m outgoing, personable and funny. I’m the life of the party when necessary but I handle my business with utmost care.
